In a small coffee shop sits a man reading the paper. It's an average day to him. He glances up and sees a woman come in and heads to the counter. Not paying any mind to her he keeps reading. Startled, he jumps when the paper is pulled down. He looks up and sees her back to him She turns to him smiling, showing her teeth."May I sit down?" she asked, he gets up to pull out her chair.

 "Of course", he replies.

She scoots the chair closer to the table and puts down her drink. He's watching her pour sugar into it. He asks," Why did you come over here"? She looks up and replies," I thought you might wanted some company". He is feeling perplexed.

She looks around the room it's empty.

"My name is Michael," he says. She smiles, " Susan". She is curious about why he is alone and then asks, " Are you new here?"

Michael sitting up from reading his book, " I just moved to town last week." Susan leans forward intrigued by him. Stirring her drink she takes a sip.

Michael watching Susan becoming aware and somewhat suspicious of her intentions. He asks, " Why do you ask me these things? Because I am a complete stranger to you, for all you know I could be a bad man." Susan stares at him, arching her eyebrows, " Well to put it frankly, I've seen you around town and decided to approach you today."

Michael feeling like a fool, reaches behind his neck and feels nervous. " I just never had a woman approach me like this."  Susan smiling, " Well, I think your kinda cute, so I thought I'd make the first hello."

Michael leans forward, curious says, " What are your plans after your hello, Susan?"

Susan starts giggling, wipes her mouth and stands up. " You'll just have to find out later won't you?" Michael sitting with his hand rubbing his beard, his hazel eyes looking into hers. Hr proceeds to stand up but before he can. Susan puts her hand on his shoulder pushing him back down.

"Not so fast Michael, your not going anywhere with me unless you ask me how I feel."  Michael still curious, " I never got to ask that because you just sat down and startled me!"  Susan hands on hips leans in and hands him her number. " Call me later, handsome. I got to go to work."

Michael watches as she leaves out the door. Seeing her for the first time really. She's of average height, thin and well proportioned looks. Long dark hair and smooth skin. He opens the paper up looking at her number, memorizing it.

After Susan left, Michael gets up and folding his paper places a tip on the table. He puts his sunglasses on and steps out into a bright morning. Walking to his truck he spots a piece of paper. Lifting the wiper up he collects the paper and opens it up.

Reading the contents on it, Susan wrote down the time she got off work. Michael smiling climbs up into the cab of his truck, closing the door. Putting on his seatbelt, he pushes the clutch in,  cranks the engine and let's it sit idling. Thinking about her makes him more curious than before. He reaches for the gearshift and puts into drive.
As he pulls out a car suddenly honks at him. Startled, he slams on the brakes as the car keeps going. He looks both ways and proceeds to turn left on Main street.
As he approaches an intersection, the light staying green allows him time to make it.
Finally, after a 15 minute drive home, he stops to get his mail. Looking through it, it's just an ad for a local grocery store.

Pulling up to his house, he gets out of the truck and his dog a German Shepherd, named Rex barks and comes running. Michael waits as Rex stands up trying to lick his face. He rubs Rex on the head and pats him, Rex then barks and runs off. Michael grabs his keys and walks to the door unlocking it, tosses the mail in the trash. He looks up at the clock on the wall.
