- Friday Night -

"You're going with us, Jesse? Are you sure you're supposed to?" Grover asked.

"That is what Chiron said," I answered with a shrug, and Annabeth looked me over skeptically.

"I don't know if I believe you much less trust you. However, It might be in our best interest to take him with us on this quest." Annabeth said looking from me to Grover and Percy.

"Yeah, this quest is not exactly one we can afford to mess up, so more help definitely would not hurt," Grover said to Percy who shrugged.

"Sure. Anyone else we should wait for?" He asked sarcastically. As if on cue Andrew appeared from some bushes with a backpack. "I should've seen that one coming..." Percy sighed looking down. "Ok seriously anyone else?" He asked towards the bushes, and when no response was issued Percy nodded. "Good, so we can get going now yeah?"

"Yep," Andrew said as he slid down the hill and hopped off the last little bit. "Sure can."

"There is our bus," Grover said with a finger pointing at an arriving bus pulling up to a stop on the road in front of us. Getting on, I saw Annabeth glare at me and Andrew as we sat down next to each other diagonally in front of her. Percy and Grover also sat next to each other behind her, Grover munching on an aluminum can and Percy looking deep in thought.

"So where exactly are we headed to get this lightning thingy back?" I asked.

"We are headed to some Underworld entrance in LA."

"Oh...That doesn't sound good," Andrew muttered and I nodded in agreement.

"So you gonna tell us why you were crying so much outside the Hermes cabin?"

"No," I answered and Annabeth's glare was now on me.

"Ok, first off. I think we should do some form of team building so we can get at least a little trust in this group yeah?" Grover said in an awkwardly upbeat voice and when there was a tense silence in return, he sighed and said nothing else.

"I brought you a few things," Andrew muttered after nudging my shoulder. "Here," He said handing me a watch and pocket knife.

"Crap I totally forgot that stuff!" I said as I dug through my own bag and saw no weapon or armor.

"I figured you would. Watch is a shield just hit the dial and the pocket knife is a sword made of celestial bronze. Meaning it can't hurt a mortal but can hurt monsters and immortals," Andrew explained and I simply blinked at him. "Protects against magical and mundane stuff, hurts things that aren't human," Andrew simplified pointing to the watch then the pocket knife.

"Got it. How do I know what's not human?" I asked and Andrew went to answer but Annabeth cut him off.

"We can see through the mist so what mortals see as natural phenomena, we see it as it really is. Essentially you can see monsters when they are there."

"Natural phenomena being like...I dunno? What's a good example? Uh something like a big wave when it is actually water nymphs," Grover added.

"It's the camouflage hiding our world from that of normal people's."

"Speaking of normal, if you knew about Camp Half-Blood, why were you at Yancy?" I asked Andrew who grinned back.

"I like to balance both worlds if given the chance. Chiron sent Grover to find demigods there, and I wanted to tag along."

"Makes sense," I said with a nod. A bit later on the way to apparently New Jersey the bus stopped and I saw three women get on, and one looked almost exactly like..."Hey Percy doesn't that look like..."
