Chapter 9

I was woken up by my alarm at 8:30am. I got ready and walked downstairs. Dylan and Amy were there with their suitcases and things to go home with. Dylan lived in a different part of London to where I lived and it's a little bit further so he's driving himself there and obviously amy is going back to Nottingham so she's getting a lift home. I've met Amy's parents once and the same with Dylan and they seem like really nice people. "I'll miss you two," I told them and gave them both a hug.

"I'll be back on the 27th and then I'm going back to my parents on the 2nd of January for that last bit of the week we have off before we go back to college." Dylan told me.

"And I'm coming back on the 30th of December," Amy told me.

"I know but still," I sighed.

"Monica, you'll be fine, don't worry, we're only a phonecall away," Amy said and gave me another hug.

"Hopefully, I'll be fine," I smiled.

"I'm sure you will, when are you seeing Nathan?" Dylan asked. Yeah he knows about me and Nathan now as well.

"On Saturday," I told them.

"Why so late? I thought you'd be seeing him today," Amy told me.

"Haha, no I'm going out to buy his present today and then tomorrow I'm going to see Cel, so we agreed we'd spend the day together on Saturday before he goes." I smiled.

"You two are so loved up it's unreal." Dylan laughed.

"You're just as bad," I laughed at him because he's really soppy and says the cheesiest things ever to Jess. It's cringy at times!

"Anyway, I need to get going, I don't want to miss my train," Amy said and we said bye and off went Dylan and Amy. I sighed and walked back into my house. I finished sorting out my hair and I picked up my bag and went to buy Nathan a present. I finished work 3 days ago and I don't start back until the new year. I've got some holiday to use up so I decided to use it now. Hence why I haven't been at work recently.

Anyway I got the bus into the shopping part of town and I walked around the shops trying to find Nathan a suitable present. Hmmm...I really want to buy him something amazing. This could be hard.

an hour later

So I've been walking round for a while and I bought Nathan a new hoodie for £50 and a bit of a joke present. A top that said "I Heart The Wanted" and a big box of chocolates and when I say big. I mean BIG! I popped to McDonalds quickly and bought myself a 6 chicken nugget meal with a cola. I ate it and then I got the bus home.

I arrived home and decided to wrap up Nathan's presents and I wrote the card.

Soon everything was ready and I sat down and watched TV while zoning out.

5:30

So my film had finished and I began to make myself some dinner. I really couldn't be arsed but I needed food. My phone began to ring and it was Amy. "Hey slag," I said answering the phone.

"Hey whore, how are you alone in the flat?" She laughed.

"I'm alright actually, hows home?" I asked her.

"it's alright, I've not been home long but my parents haven't stopped questioning me about what I've been up to haha." She laughed.

"Bless them, I'll ring you again in a bit, I'm just making dinner for myself so I'm a tad busy right now." I told her.

"Ok, I'll ring you back in about an hour, please don't burn down the flat." She laughed.

"I'll try not too, " I laughed and finished cooking my dinner. I made my dinner and I sat down and ate it. I decided to ring Nathan.

"Hey Monica," He said.

"Hi Nathan, guess who's present I bought today?" I asked.

"Hmmm, I don't know, mine?" He asked laughing.

"Yeah, how'd you guess?" I laughed.

"Well I bought yours today as well," He told me.

"Ooooo, can I have a hint of what it is?" I asked him.

"Nope, not unless you give me a hint on what mine his." He told me.

"Hmmm, I think I can wait till Saturday then." I laughed.

"I can't actually wait over another 24 hours till I next see you." Nathan told me.

"Same here but I've gotta see Cel tomorrow and give him his presents from me and Amy and stuff." I told him.

"Well how about we go see Cel together tomorrow? I need to give him his present as well." Nathan offered.

"Yeah sounds awesome," I smiled.

"Great, what time were you planning on meeting Cel and where?" Nathan asked.

"At his house at around 1pm," I replied.

"Okay, I'll be at yours at 12 tomorrow," Nathan told me.

"Awesome, I can't wait to see you," I admitted.

"Same here," he smiled. "Gotta go, I'm getting another call. I'll ring you again in a bit." He told me.

"Okay, speak to you later," I smiled.

"Bye" he told me.

"Bye" I replied back and then we hung up. My phone began ringing again and it was Amy. I answered it.

"Bitch why didn't you pick up?" She asked.

"I was on the phone to Nath sorry," I apologised.

"Oh, that's why you took forever to answer." She laughed.

"What? I wasn't on that long," I exclaimed.

"Well, I've been trying to get old of you for about 5 minutes." She told me. "What were you talking about?" She asked.

"Stuff,"

"What kind of stuff?" She asked.

"Nothing exciting," I told her.

"I bet it was, what was it?" She asked being nosey.

"Okay, we just told each other that we had bought our presents today and that we decided to go see Cel together tomorrow, that's it, see nothing interesting," I admitted.

"Are you sure that's it?" She asked.

"Yes, positive," I laughed.

"Okay, guess what! It's Christmas in 4 days!" She squealed.

"Yes, I know," I laughed.

"I'm so excited!" She squealed again.

"I think I can see that," I laughed.

"My present for you is under our Christmas tree, don't open it until Christmas Day though, so don't forget take it to your dads," She told me.

"I won't forget and I promise I won't open any presents before Christmas Day. You know I've never opened a single present before Christmas Day." I said.

"I know, I know but just saying and your present to me is under my parents Christmas tree waiting to be opened!" She said.

"You're going to love it!" I smiled.

"I can't wait to open it, 4 MORE DAYS!" She squealed again.

"Raven could you come and help me food shop quickly and come off the phone to your friends please Darling. You'll see them again soon." I heard her mum say.

"Looks like you've gotta go." I told her.

"Yeah, I'll text you soon or something," She said.

"Okay, speak soon, bye," I told her.

"Bye shit face," She laughed and hung up. I then washed my dinner pots and just relaxed. The flat seems so empty! CRY!
