00: Prologue

“GASP!”

“Did you just say ‘gasp’?”

“Nevermind that! Look! Eren and his ma are having a yelling match!” Ashley exclaimed as she store at the fight going on between her friend and her mother’s friend. Nathan sighed and looked down at the crazy-looking girl whom he called his ‘Sister’.

“Can’t you just give them some privacy for once?” Nathan frowned at her. Ashley rolled her eyes and glared at him.

“Of course not! I’m not only doing this for me you know! It’s also so that I can find a way to make you and Mikasa get together like you’ve always dreamed!” She flashed the red-faced Nathan before turning back to the scene.

“W - What?!”

“You talk in your sleep, didn’t I tell you that yesterday when you woke up after cleaning the food off of my bedroom walls?” 

He looked away to hide the blush that was getting more noticable by the second.

“Oh - and Happy Birthday!” She sang when all of a sudden, a cat appeared in the air and dropped into his arms.

“What the - did that cat just appear from the air?! How the hell did you manage to do that?!”

“Uh...THE WORLD SHALL NEVER KNOW! Ha - nah, just kidding. I’m a crazy cat lady, that’s how it works. Geez, after knowing me your whole life, you didn’t know that?”

Nathan tried to face-palm himself but Ashley did it for him.

“OW!”

“Oooh! Eren’s running off, c’mon get on my back!” He wasn’t even able to answer as Ashley had already thrown him over her shoulders, putting him in an uncomfortable position.

“NEIGH! I. AM. HOOOOOORSE!” Ashley yelled and ran off with Nathan, and followed Eren, who seemed to be helping Armin with Mikasa. “I swear, these guys are some kind of like, magic-beings you know? They somehow got here before us - oh wait, we were meant to be following Eren! But how the hell did Mikasa get here?! She has to teach me this kind of shit!” The bullies ran towards their way and Ashley dropped Nathan so that she could creep them out with her crazy smile.

“Hello...I was wondering where you live...I really like blood, did you know?” The bullies quickly ran off at the sight of her. 

“Ash! Nathan! Where have you two been for the past 3 months?!” Armin exclaimed before pulling Ashley into a hug - a hug that caused her to blush, might I add. Nathan smirked at his friend, feeling smug that she was finally embarrassed.

“Ash wanted to get more cats, so she stole cats from almost every household. I tried to stop her but, you know how Ash is with cats...” Mikasa chuckled, it was something that only Ash could do - make Mikasa laugh. Armin pulled away from his hug with Ash.

“OH MY KITTY GOD! ARMIN I LOVE YOU!” Ashley took the book from Armin and started looking through the book, ignoring the sighs of her best friends.

“Oy! Ashley, we want to see it as well!” Armin whined. Ashley froze and looked at Armin with a scary look on her face.

“What. Did. You. Just. Call. Me?” Ashley dropped the book and stood up, glaring up at the scared boy who stood before her. 

“Uh...Nathan, help?” He mouthed to Nathan, who just gave him a ‘Sorry, you’re dead’ look. Armin looked back at Ashley. Ashley just laughed and poked Armin’s cheek.

“Awe! You’re scared of me! Of course you can read the book!” The other three were speechless. This was the frist time she let someone call her Ashley.

“Th - Thanks.” Armin blushed and picked up the book, when Mikasa took it from him.

“Hey Mikasa, what’re you doing?!” Eren balled his fists and tried to get it from Mikasa, Ashley copying his actions, except it was a failure because Ashley only went up to Mikasa’s shoulder. Yep, Ash is a shorty, but hey! She grew a lot since she used to be only up to everyone’s waist! Oh yeah - story, soz!

“If we were to be caught with this book, then we could - ”

“WHO CARES?!” Ashley jumped onto Mikasa’s face and grabbed the book, jumping off as soon as she did so. Ashley gave the book to Eren.

The group read the book when out of no where, a loud BANG caught their attention. Ashley was first to react to the sight of the cause of the noise.

“Ew, it’s so ugly! It looks like he tried to cover itself in tomatoes and put extra nut skin on himself!” Nathan quickly grabbed Ashley and held her close to him protectively. 

“Ash, stay close to me!” He ordered. Ashley just shrugged.

“Well okay. As long as I don’t have to walk...”

“You'll have to run.”

“God dammit.”

“Now is not the time Ash!”

“You’re right Nathan...ha, nope! Let’s just find our families and get the hell out of here - Oh crap too late! Titan! Holy shit, Titan!” Nathan ignored her and led the way back to the home that their families shared. But it wasn’t there. There was just blood and rocks. Only one person remained standing next to their house, and it was Nathan’s little sister, Ashlin, who was named by Ashley.

“Lin! Get the hell over here!” Ashley yelled and picked up the little girl. Ashley then grabbed Nathan and the three children were about to run away when they saw Mikasa and Eren talking to their mother...who was under a bunch of rubble. “Kalura!” Ashley gave Ashlin to Nathan and ran over to the family.

“Ash! Please, tell them to leave! I can’t let them stay here! It’s dangerous! Please!” Ashley nodded and tried to pull Eren away, but he stayed put.

“No, not without you!” Ashley growled with anger.

“Eren, at least do as your mother wishes! She had to leave one day! I know, that is a cruel thing to say, but it’s true, and now is her time! This is her wish and all you could do for her is the opposite of her wish! We have to go!” Eren was the one to growl with anger this time, but with more anger than Ashley. He lifted up his hand and slapped Ashley with all of his strength, causing her to fall to the ground. It took Eren a second to realize what he had done. Ashley cried out with pain.

“Eren, you listen to Ashley! And never hit her again! Please, just leave!”

Ashley picked up Eren and Mikasa and signaled Nathan to follow, but that was the end for them already. A Titan had appeared. Ashley put her friends down and glared at the Titan. 

“What are you doing?!” Nathan yelled, but Ashley acted as if she couldn’t hear him. He watched with horror when the Titan picked Ashley up. Her friends were screaming at her, but she remained calm as the Titan put her in it’s mouth.

And swallowed her whole.
