Eliana's POV:
"Okay, what about that guy? What could his job be?" James asked as he pointed to a guy way in the back.
We had been playing a 'deduct what [insert person]'s job is' game.
Why you ask? Well because we wanted to know who of us is best at deductions.
"He's wearing a uniform. Since he wears it to a date with his wife-" I looked again at her ring, that was obviously an engagement ring "-no sorry, fiancé- he's clearly on call"
"He's nervous, you can see by the way he keeps refolding his napkin, it is a habit. He doesn't have any special patches on there that could indicate a rank and judging by the color he is a marine, but he hasn't been on the job for very long." I continued.
"You're good"
"What about her? Got any 'deductions'?" I said, airquoting the deductions part.
"Secret agent"
"How would you know that?"
"She worked for me about a year ago" He said laughing.
"Okay that's not fair"
"You pointed to her, princess."
"Stop calling me that"
"Alright, how about queen?" he said with that stupid smirk on his face. I scoffed.
𑁍
"I hate to admit it, but I had fun tonight..." I said as we walked outside.
"Told you, you needed someone"
"Why are you being so nice to me?" I asked suspiciously.
"Because there aren't a lot of fun people around here who are like me"
"Was that supposed to be a compliment?"
"Possibly..."
I scanned his dark intense eyes, he was being genuine.
We walked down the street, and got to a bridge. It was lit up at the sides, since it was dark outside. The lanterns were on too, it was beautiful. You could see the moon shine onto the water as the wind softly blew through the trees.
There was a silence, but it was a comfortable one.
James' POV:
"I still can't believe I did this by the way..." She said scratching the back of her neck awkwardly.
"This? You mean go out to dinner with me?"
"Yeah..."
"Why? Because I'm your brothers' enemy?"
"Well yes, that and the fact that I had a gun pointed at you only a few hours ago-" we both laughed. "This doesn't mean I can stand to be around you by the way" she said smirking softly.
Her eyes sparkled in the moonlight, the light of the lanterns illuminating her soft features...
We held eye contact for just a moment, before she looked down at her jacket and started fiddle with the seam.
She has some of these nervous habits, I noticed during dinner too. But the fact that an ex-MI6 agent is showing those traits must mean that she somewhat trusts me...right?
You might have guessed that I'm not exactly the type to get attached to another human being, but I met her today.
She nearly shot me, she's my worst enemy's sister, she pressed me up against a wall and killed a good few of my security guards but damn, I liked her presence.
I wonder how the Holmes boys would react if they knew that I spend most of my night with Eliana-
"Are you okay?" I got brought back to reality.
"Wha-? Yeah- yeah, I'm great"
"You were completly zoned out there for a second" she chuckled.
"Just- lost in thought, that is all"

Eliana's POV:
I put my keys in the little bowl where I usually put them, and hung my coat onto the coathanger.
And that's when I noticed the dark figure sitting on my couch.
"Where the hell have you been all night?!"
