I sat on the chair across from Derek. He just stared at me. I don't even know what I did wrong.
"Why didn't you tell me you weren't coming home last night? I tried calling you and texting you, and I got nothing back," he said, still looking angry.
"Listen, Derek. I'm sorry okay? I forgot. I don't have my phone in hand 24/7. I didn't know it went off. I haven't even checked it yet." He kept looking at me. He got a little less tense, sitting back on the couch.
"Did you at least have fun?"
"It was a lot of fun. Chris and I went back to his house after." Now Derek looked angry again. God, he was sexy when he was mad. "Don't look so mad. It's my life, and I'll make my own choices."
"I'm here to protect you, Hayleigh, and I can't do that if you keep setting yourself up to get hurt. For all you know, Chris could have been the one to drug and rape you." I looked at him. I was pissed.
"How could you say something like that? He's the only friend I've really made. I like him, Derek." Now he looked sad. Was I breaking his heart? If he wanted me so bad, why didn't he make a move? "I'm going up stairs to take a shower. Come talk to me when you're not so pissed off." I stormed off upstairs, dropping my dress on my bedroom floor. I turned the water on, taking my bra and underwear off and getting in. The shower was where I did all my life thinking. It was weird, but it kind of helped. There is no way I was stuck choosing between two extremely good looking guys. Derek was going to be leaving in a couple weeks anyway. I turned the water off, getting out. I dried myself off, wrapping a towel around my body. I walked into my bedroom, and Derek was sitting on my bed. He looked at me; I could feel my face getting warm. He was making me blush, I think more so because I was in nothing but a towel, and there he is sitting on my bed. I went over, sitting next to him.
"I'm sorry I freaked out. I just care about you." I looked at him, shocked. My facial expression must have said it all because a grin came upon his face.
"I-it's okay.." I said back to him, watching him. Derek leaned in close to me, kissing my lips gently. What the fuck was going on? He place his hand on my cheek as he continued to kiss me. I melted at his touch. What were these boys doing to me? He pulled me in closer, running his hand down my arm. Goosebumps instantly appeared. He pushed me back lightly on the bed, moving his hand down my thighs. He took his shirt off, throwing it to the floor. I bit my lip at the sight of his abs. My god, he was perfect. He started kissing my neck as I ran my hands down his back. He got on too of me, moving his hand up under my towel. I held my breath for a second, wondering what was going to happen.
"You okay?" He looked at me confused. I nodded and he continued. He started rubbing my gently. I leaned my head back in pleasure. He smiled at me, unbuttoning his pants and sliding them off. I unwrapped my towel, throwing it to the side. Derek bit his lip, kissing my neck. He kissed down my body, stopping at my waist line. He looked up at me, and I nodded. He started eating me out, swirling his tongue around in all the right ways. I arched my back, moaning. He continued, placing one of his hands on my boob and rubbing it. After a little bit, he moved up and kissed me, smiling against my lips.
"Are you ready?" He said smiling. I nodded, smiling back. He slid inside of me, thrusting slowly, still massaging my boob. He picked up his pace, making me grip the sheets, moaning in sheer pleasure. He started going pretty fast, and I jut couldn't control myself.
"Ahhh, Derek!" I moaned out. He smiled. He had gone for quite a while, but finally he was done. Laying down on the bed next to me. I rolled over, closing my eyes. I fell asleep. When I woke up, Derek wasn't there. I grabbed my phone; I had texts from Chris.
Chris: hey, beautiful. So I was thinking, maybe we could go to dinner tonight? Let me know
Chris: Hayleigh, are you asleep? It's three in the afternoon.
Chris: sorry to blow up your phone, but I really need to know if you want to go to dinner tonight or not. I have to make reservations.
I felt so bad. I didn't even know my phone had gone off. I was so caught up in the moment with Derek. My head was spinning in a hundred different ways. What was I going to do? Derek would be leaving in a few weeks, and Chris was going to be around until he left for college, if he went. Then I really started thinking about it; I wasn't quite eighteen yet, and Derek was twenty-five. He could get in so much trouble. I wouldn't be eighteen until August, and Derek would be gone by then. Plus he worked for the friggen FBI; like he said before, it was hard to have a relationship, and I'm sure his team wouldn't be too happy about what happened earlier. I kept staring at my phone, trying to figure out what to say back to Chris.
Hayleigh- sorry, I actually did fall asleep. I would love to go to dinner tonight
I set my phone on my night stand and made my way downstairs. Derek was sitting on the couch. He looked at me as I walked into the livingroom. He seemed upset.
"Listen, Hayleigh.."
"I know, Derek. We can't do this. As of now, it's illegal, and when it will be legal, you'll be fine and working on other cases, protecting other people," I said, cutting him off. He just looked at me.
"It was extremely wrong for me to do what I did. It was unprofessional, and I'm sorry. I'm here to protect you, and I'm probably leading you on, which will hurt you. I don't want to do that. I really do care about you, but you're right. It's not legal, and I could get in a lot of trouble if it gets out." I nodded at him.
"I'm going to dinner with Chris tonight. I think it's best if we just forget this happened." I said to him, feeling a knot in my throat. It would be hard for me to forget that because it was perfect. I had really enjoyed it, but I wasn't going to put his job on the line. Derek nodded in agreement, and I made my way back upstairs.
----------------------------------------------What do you guys think!? How do you feel about Hayleigh and Chris? What do you think about what happened with Hayleigh and Derek? I've decided that this book is almost done. I will probably do a second one that'll take place a couple years after Derek has left. Feel free to leave feedback, and give me ideas for the second one! Also, please give me ideas for a new book, one other than witness protection. I'm really feeling a new story after witness protection is done and just don't have ideas.
