Chapter 21

Arriving in the states was when it really hit me that I was away from my real home and that I had left everything behind. I got off the plane and was walking through the crowded airport till I got outside where a young man, who was dressed in black was standing next to a black limo with the name SMITH written on white card, that he held infront of his chest. I made my way towards him and said,

"I'm Smith, Daniel Smith"

"Good day sir, my name is Steven and I'm going to be your driver for today" I smiled as he took my bags and I got inside the limo. The ride, through the beautiful city was relaxing me but it also reminded me that this beautiful city was not where I belonged. I belonged in England, I belonged with Nora.

After a while Steven drove to the front door of my fathers ridiculously large mansion, but I have to admit it did look amazing from the outside, where trees surrounded the sides while there was a huge water fountain in the front garden. I got out of the limo and made my way to the huge wooden door, that was my life and prison at this exact moment.

SAM'S POV.

"He's gone Nora," I said as I held my sister's still hand in mine. I don't know how she will take it but I have to say I'm not looking forward to the effect him leaving will have on her.

"But it's okay sweetie he loves you, that's what really counts. And I'm sure he'll come back for you" I rubbed circles into the back of her hand, because Daniel's no longer here I decided to take over in the 'night duties'. The mention of Daniel, caused pain in my chest. He was in the end of the day one of my closest friends and with Nora being in the state she is and Daniel moving it suddenly felt like I have nobody which I know is not true. I have the rest of the boys along with my beautiful girlfriend.

"I need you Nora, please wake up," I whispered with tears picking at my eyes. But the sudden ringing of my phone pushed them away. I looked at caller id and felt a wave of relief wash over me,

"Daniel?" I said while continuing to hold Nora's fragile hand in mine. He'd promised he would phone when he reached his new home, but I doubted, for some reason.

"Hey Sam, what's happening?"

"Nothing really, I'm in the hospital just now,"

"How is she?" He asked with concern clear in his voice

"Sh--" I had to stop because the sudden slow movement that Nora's hand made, made my heart skip beats. I watched as her hand kept twitching

"Sam what happened?" Daniel asked worried

"She's waking up!" I nearly yelled with happiness

"What, no way!" He replied with the same amount of happiness

Nora's Pov.

Why is there someone screaming I asked my self. I felt like a dead person, my body was numb but I could still feel someones warm hands holding mine but I couldnt see anything but blackness which scared me. Slowly I opened my eye which made them flutter like butterfly wings but I couldn't help it, I could see brightness through the times my eye lids opened a tiny fraction untill they opened fully and I looked around, at first it was a little blurry but soon everything fell into place and I could see my surroundings.

"Nora you're okay, everythings going to be okay," Sam's frantic voice stopped my eyes from wondering and focus fully on him.

"What happened?" I knew I was at the hospital due to the clothes i was in and the machines that surrounded me but I didn't know anything else so I was hoping he would fill me in.

"You had an operation to take the two bullets out and you were out for about 5 days, but everythings going to be okay now, your awake" he moved in and huged my side with one hand and had his other occupied with his mobile. I let him hug me but I felt disappointed for some reason, I think it was because of a special someone not being here with Sam, you'd think taking bullets for someone would get them to do the least by staying with you in hospital.

As if I had said that out louder Sam answered,

"He's not here," I already figured

"Phone later," he said it into the phone

"No you can't, not just now," I heard him continue his conversation with the person on the phone

Finally he hung up and looked at me with a very sad expression, the sadest I've seen so far while saying,

"He had to go,"

"Where?" I asked,I felt my body tense at the sadness of his voice

"To live with his dad in the states," my body went still, my heart stoped for a fraction of a second before it started at unnatural speed, it felt like my body was going into shock. He wouldn't leave me, would he? Why wouldn't he stupid, I didn't even tell him I loved him, again! I wanted to scream, cry, hit something but couldn't so stayed silent and held it all in and would let it all out when ever i'm alone.

"It's okay Nora, He'll come back. I promise he'll come back," He assured me in a paniced voice, probably scared of the expression on my face. I didn't say anything, and neither did he, After that a nurse stuck her head in, breaking the silence

"You'r awake, I'll get a doctor," she said hurriedly and hurried back out the room. Not even minutes later a lady Doctor, who had black hair tied in a low pony and looked about 28 or 29 walked in.

"It's great to see your awake, how are you feeling Nora?" she smiled at me, she seemed sweet.

"When can she go home doctor?" Sam asked, not letting me answer

"Everything is fine, the only thing Nora needs is rest and whether she gets that at home or in the hospital is up to your self,"

"I'd like to take her home,"

"And you can but I recommend you stay the night and leave in the morning,"

"Okay, thank you Doctor," Sam said back

"And before I forget a young man handed this to one of our nurses, yesterday" the nurse handed me a sealed white envelop that had 'Nora' written on the front. The docotor left soon after, followed by the nurse and I was left with Sam and the envelope that I had no clue who it was from.

"Are you going to open that? " Sam asked curious

"No, I'll do it in the morning," when I'm alone. God knows who it could be from I thought to myself.
