Sixth Year"-George Weasley?" Nereza gasped while eyeing herself and Ara as they stood in front of their dorm mirror, "-That's definitely not the twin I assumed you'd been holding out for,"
Ara rolled her eyes.
The Yule Ball was starting in less than half an hour, and Ara had just worked up the nerve to tell Nereza who her date was.
"I was not holding out for anyone," Running a hand down her dress, Ara sighed, "-George and I are only going as friends, by the way,"
The girls were matching.
Nereza wore a short, constellation-embroidered dress which was made of beautiful emerald velvet and paired with elegant tulle sleeves. Ara's dress was made of satin, but it was in the same shade of green. The dress was strapless, tight, and the top of the bodice was slightly asymmetrical.
The satin material twisted around the blonde's waist, making it look smaller than usual. Ara's dress also had a large slit in the leg, which the girl loved.
Perfect place for a wand.
"Adrian and I-" Nereza began, nervously.
Ara chuckled at her roommate before taking a seat on her bed and beginning to pull on her heels. The blonde had sat through hours of Adrian questioning whether he'd ask the Italian-girl to the Yule Ball, and, despite Ara assuring him that they were, whether his feelings towards Nereza were reciprocated.
"Oh please, you and Adrian are not going as friends,"
In the end, Adrian had worked up the nerve to ask Nereza to the dance, but due to last-minute insecurity he'd masked the proposal as a friendly one.
Nereza groaned before running a hand through her long braided hair, which she had pulled into a high-ponytail.
"The hair isn't too much, is it?" She asked nervously, Ara chuckled before standing up and walking over to the girl.
"You look gorgeous and I'm sure Adrian will agree,"
"And I'm sure George Weasley will want to think of you as much more than a friend after seeing you in that dress,"
Ara laughed loudly while shaking her head.
"I hope not! There's nothing serious between us, and I'd like for it to stay that way,"
"Nothing serious," Nereza tsked, "-Did Draco buy that?"
"There's nothing to buy; it's the truth," Ara chuckled before clearing her throat, "-And Draco doesn't know, I've only told you,"
Nereza's eyes had widened before she turned her head to Ara.
"He doesn't-"
"My brother does not need to know if a friend has agreed to escort me,"
"This will end badly,"
"Perhaps," Ara shrugged, "-But it'll be fun, at least,"
Arm in arm, the two girls waltzed out of their dorm and towards the Slytherin common room, where Adrian was waiting.
His jaw dropped upon catching a glimpse of Nereza, which made the girl giggle. Ara smiled at the pair and stepped back, allowing them to lock arms and for Adrian to endlessly compliment his date.
