Recap! Cause its been so long.... >.>
So Kristen decided it was a good idea to go undercover on a Team X ship as a new recruit, ended up getting some assassin chasing her around, accidentally discovered a pokemon-human hybrid experiment, found Rebecca aboard the ship for unknown reasons, ended up getting her hurt, teleported to Canalave without her pokemon and had a mental breakdown, called Jay to save her sorry butt, then the Canalave library blew up, and now we're here in the rubble and ruin. Yay!
Phew... that was a lot. Onwards with the story!

"Kristen, wait." Jay snagged my elbow before Alan could cart me away somewhere private for an interrogation. A look passed between them, Alan sighing and Jay responding with a half smile.

"Say what you need to," Alan rolled his eyes and remained where he was, not about to give us any space or privacy- which I was alright with because that meant Jay couldn't get too serious. I was going to be a five year old about whatever the thing between us was...is?

"Look Jay," I held up my hands in front of me defensively. "I realize what I did in Veilstone was wrong and I'm sorry. I handled everything poorly-" My hands were up against Jay's chest and his arms were wrapped around my waist. "What are you doing?" I exclaimed. There was an intense effort of concentration lined in his face, his eyes focusing on my lips. "Jay, what-" I tried asking again and found my mouth occupied with his, instantly forgetting what I had just said and losing all hope of ever remembering what I was going to say.

Kissing. Kissing Jay for the second time. I hardly noticed the hand that ventured to my face or the thumb absently stroking my cheek and if you'd ask me when I made the decision to rake my fingers through his hair, I'd ignore you and keep on treating myself to the lips in front of me. Lips that knew the shape of my mouth and covered it thoroughly.

Too quick it ended. I kept my eyes closed, trying to stretch the moment, then his arms disappeared and I was acutely aware of how chilly the rain had made the air.

He'd backed up three whole steps towards Ken- Oh Arceus, they'd all seen that- my hands reaching out on their own accord to stop him, now fell to my sides. The smile was small and his mouth opened a fraction to breathe out "Think about it" softer than a whisper. Calmly, like he hadn't just obliterated my microcosm, he left the scene with Ken.

"Hey, Sam," Alan called out. "How about a goodbye kiss for me, too?" He puckered up his lips and kissed the air.

"I'd sooner kiss a dozen Magikarp than your ugliness." Sam called back sweetly.

"Love you, darling," Alan trilled.

"Can't stand your guts," Sam sang.

"You're both going to make me vomit," Rebecca scowled. "Can we skip the rest of the love fest and go tromping about the ocean?"

"Splendid idea!"

"Goodbye, my darling!" Alan waved a white handkerchief as Sam and Rebecca started heading towards the water, though I wasn't sure where he'd gotten the handkerchief or how the heck Sam and Rebecca were going to search the ocean in the dark. The second question was answered when Roland popped out of his pokeball and started glowing. "Come along, Kristen!" Alan slung an arm around my shoulder. "There's a whole world out there we've yet to explore."

"Really? Is that the world you're from?" His response was to boop me on the nose. "Where should we start? Big cities. Jubilife or Hearthome?" I had Pidgeot's pokeball at the ready. "Jubilife is closer."

"Jubilife it is, then." He shook his head.

"What?"

"Nothing," he chuckled. "Just the two of us going willingly into police stations."
