Why I decided to stay behind I don't know. Maybe I was hoping that Mari would appreciate my dedication to her. There's just something about her that's so, inviting, intoxicating. I've seen her throughout the school year, always with this David kid. I know the door was closed, so why am I attempting to pry it open? When I saw her on the trip with us, I felt like this was a sign. It was my chance to win her over. I don't have anything against David, he's a good guy, but he seems a bit too intense for Mari. She needs someone she can have fun with. Not kids. I'm sure they were having fun at some point. I then realised that this whole baby thing might rip them apart, so I stuck around. Just now when Mari came home, I felt my chest inflate with happiness. I kept it in check.

Later that night, she walked out of the bedroom alone. I acted like I didn't care. "Hey Mari, what is up girl?" "Oh you know. Tired, kids, David, same old," she replied gruffly. "Hey if you're hungry, I'll make you something," I offered. "Really? That'd be great, thanks," she gushed. I got up and walked past the bedroom, David was fast asleep. My heart started pounding a little faster. She was standing right in front of me, do something. "So how is everything? You and David doing okay?" I asked. She looked at me quizzically. Shit, she knows. She totally knows what I'm doing, my cover is so blown. Stop, how could she know, there is no possible way. "Well, we uh, it's just not that great right now, I mean everything with the baby and all, but we'll get through it. I know he's committed," she said tiredly. She gave me the words I was looking for and also the ones I wasn't. Something stirred deep down inside me. I moved forward and cupped her face and pressed my lips against hers. It was amazing and she didn't resist, at first. She finally shoved me away. "What the hell was that? No, no, no, we can't do this. I'm with David. Not you," she breathed out rapidly. "So you admit it, you do have feelings for me?" I asked hopefully. "No of course not! I just, it's been a little rough recently and I have been with David for a while. But that doesn't mean I feel anything for you!" She said back, her voice raising. "You let me kiss you for like 5 seconds, you weren't even startled anymore! You know that means something!" I yelled. "Look, maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I still don't know anything about you, let alone love you or even like you," she countered. There was only one way to settle this. I closed the little distance that was between us and kissed her again. We ripped apart before I even knew what was going on. I spun around and was facing David.

Mystery Person P.O.V
I had gotten tired of waiting for her to return. So I followed them, hoping to catch her alone here. I quickly found the hotel they were all staying at. One night, I watched her, some guy and some other kids pile into a car and take off into the night. Of course I was going to follow them. They stopped at the hospital. I didn't dare go inside. She didn't come out for weeks. Then finally she walked out with that kid she's always with back home. They went back to a different hotel. Later that night, I saw her and another boy walk into the kitchen and start kissing. Such a little slut.
