Arabella POV~

I went back to our room to shower and sleep after the long day of training we had. We were going somewhere tomorrow so we had to be well rested. Which for me meant I'd need to go four's. I planned on showering at his anyways. I grabbed my stuff and left only looking to Tris. The others hadn't spoken to me except Al who had muttered an attempt at an apology.

The apartment was silent as the night finally seeped into the compound. Four was yet to re appear, probably still looking at surveillance footage from the previous day. I rushed into the shower, trying to get everything I needed to do done with so I could go and find four. Twenty minutes later, I made my way quietly around the compound in hopes of locating my brother. After close to an hour of not coming across him, I made my way to the training room hoping he was with Tris. I peered in noticing that he wasn't here either. I sighed and decided to return to his apartment.

I waited another hour and four still hadn't made an appearance. I groaned and curled up in the corner of the bed. The second my head hit the grey covered pillows, exhaustion set in and I drifted to sleep.

No dreams came that night, no nightmares either. I woke up to Tobi's large frame engulfing most of the bed slowly pushing me off the side I had chosen the night prior. I rolled my eyes at him before getting up and going to the initiates sleeping quarters to get the gear I would need today. I noticed Tris,Christina and Will all awake packing their kit. They all looked over upon hearing the light stepping of boots on the stairs down into the room. I avoided eye contact with them as I made my way to my designated bed even if it was next to two of the three that were watching my every move. Christina made her way over to me Will following shortly after.
"Look, I am really sorry we didn't come to you and just ask what was going on. We believed Peter over you and that was a stupid thing to do. I know you don't have much trust and you have every reason not to forgive us but would you perhaps want to be friends again?" She asked her eyes trained to her feet. Chris was usually very bold and confident so seeing her acting so sheepishly shocked me. I sighed and looked over to meet her and wills questioning eyes.
"I will but please don't betray my trust like that. It will take time to rebuild the trust I have lost but I'm willing to try." I stated as will nodded probably expecting that to be my answer. Chris smiled brilliantly at me and I simply nodded, lifting the corner of my mouth in return. The rest of the transfer initiates began rising as alarms went off.

We made our way onto the trains that appeared to be heading to the wall.
"As dauntless, we fight to protect every life inside the fence without fail. That's why we train you the way we do," he said then looking over to tris and Christina,
"To teach you not to give up. And to find out who has what it takes." The cart was silent after the speech and soon pulled to a stop at the end of the line. We made our way toward the wall as four began speaking again.
"We know it's been quiet out there for years, that could change any at moment, so we have to be ready for everything." He spoke with no emotion behind his words. We started climbing the stairs up. I walked with Zeke and Uriah making small talk as we climbed.

We all stood looking out on the amity farms.
"What's out there?" Tris asked from beside me.
"Monsters," Chris replied making fangs with her fingers and hunching over slightly earning a laugh from will and I.
"Amity folks." Al replied.
"No, I know. But beyond that." Tris asked looking to will who relied.
"Places that never recovered from the war." He answered looking out to where the world used to be.
"Do you know?" She turned to four and I.
"Let's just say, they built the wall for a reason." He spoke cryptically, when in reality I know he had no idea. None of us did.
We stood looking out on the land before the train arrived, taking us back to dauntless.

"Initiates, today we start knife throwing practice." Eric called out to us.
"Grab a thigh strap and five knives and go to the line. There will be a demonstration first given by me then you will continue on your own!" Four called out to the group of us. We collected our things watching him hit the target perfectly every time. All five touching in the centre of the head circle. I made my way to my target the others following behind. I lined up my first shot slimly missing the heads inner circle. I knew from previous experience that I was more confident in my shooting abilities. Knife throwing wasn't my strong suit. The next knife flew into the chest area, further away from where I was aiming than my original shot. I heard sharp continuous banging beside me as tris lands her knives dead centre every time. I smile over at her as Chris speaks.
"You're kinda good at this." She says as Will throws the knife barely missing his target. Chris was of a similar ability to me at this.
Al-who is stood the other side of me- doesn't seem to be able to throw his at all near the target not landing a single shot. His knives falling to the flaw clinking as they flip. Eric begins walking over, his face void of all emotion.
"Well that whats pathetic." He says, his voice staying completely monotone. Al scoffs turning.
"It slipped." He bit back trying to hold his temper poorly. His frustration was mainly with himself but Eric was playing a key role in pissing him off.
"We'll go get it." Eric says his voice raising slightly. A knife bounces off the target, landing where Al's knives lay collected on the floor.
"What while they are throwing? He asks his eyes slightly above Eric's.
"Are you afraid?" Eric asks sizing him up. Everyone knew Al would get himself laid out by the leader but no one was going to stop him or tell him to hold his tongue.
"Of getting stabbed by an airborne knife? Yeah." He snapped in return. I could feel the heat radiating from Eric's anger but his face remained unchanged.
"Everybody stop." The knives clanging stopped instantly.
"Stand in-front of the target." Eric said and Al hesitated before shuffling over.
"Four give me a hand here." Eric spoke not even looking at him. Four stood from his perch walking over to Eric. Al's tall build covered the whole of the target.
"You're going to stand there while he throws those knives. And if I see you flinch. You're out." Four stands behind his left shoulder with Tris and I to the side with Chris.
"One thing you will learn here, is that orders are not optional." Eric stood to the side near me as four prepares to throw the knives. I knew four wouldn't miss so I had confidence in Al being okay. But no one else knew that.
"Stop." Tris spoke from beside me. I bit my lip to stop myself glaring at her. She was asking for trouble now.
"Anyone can stand in front of a target, that doesn't prove anything." She spoke boldly. I mentally slapped myself at her stupidity.
"Then it should be easy for you to take his place." She nodded stepping forward as Al made his way back.
"Same rules apply." He spoke moving much closer to my brother. He lined up the first knife and released it. The blade sinking into the wood 20cm from her right thigh.
"Oh come on four." Eric taunted. He threw the next one it landing just off the target by her shoulder.
"You can get closer than that."
"You want me to give her a little trim?" He asked Eric.
"Yea maybe just a little of the top." Eric spoke now smirking. Chris had turned away now her head on Wills shoulder as he rubbed her back.
The next knife flew right above her head skimming her hair. He released the final knife as it landed pushing against her ear. I knew why he had done it. She reached up touching her ear feeling the fresh blood seeping out.
"Points for bravery stuff. But not as many as you just lost for opening your mouth. You watch yourself, we train soldiers not rebels." Eric threatened his tone laced with danger. He dismissed everyone and we all started leaving. I made my way out knowing Tris will want to talk to Tobias.

Four pov~
I let out a hot breath, pissed Tris put me and herself in that position. She walked over.
"You alright?" I asked unable to help myself.
"You cut me." She stated.
"I meant to." Was all I replied with as I cleaned and packed the knives away.
"You meant to?" She asked accusingly.
"You think he was gonna let you off without a scratch? You would still be standing there if I hadn't hit you." I said bluntly.
"So am I supposed to thank you?" She asked her voice full of spite. I shot her a look before turning back to the blades in front of me.
"You're supposed to be smart. If I wanted to hurt you, I would have." I said before walking off. She let out a huff before heading back to the initiates room.
