2: Baby, It's Cold Outside
"Harry, stop!" Louis whined, trying to push Harry off of him.
"Give me my phone!" Harry shouted.
"Would you two shut up?" Zayn said to his bandmates. He rolled his eyes uand returned to his phone. He was talking to his girlfriend. Traveling was hard on him during the holiday season. He wished he could spend more time with his loved ones all year long, especially during the holidays.
"He started it!" Louis said, sticking his tongue out at Harry.
Zayn groaned. "Where's Liam when you need him?"
Liam had always been the one to keep order and sanity between the boys. But since he wasn't up for Christmas this year, Zayn took on the role of Daddy Direction.
"I'm bored!" Harry announced after a moment of silence.
Zayn looked at him. "Why don't we go out to eat?" He suggested. "It's Christmas Eve and Lou's birthday, we might as well celebrate."
Louis' face lit up. "I like that idea! Can we go to that restaurant we went to last time we were here?"
Harry grinned. "I'll go get Niall and Liam!" He said before skipping out of the hotel room and down the hall.
His curls bounced as he approached the closed door. He knocked and within a minute, Niall answered the door.
"We're going out to eat," Harry said happily. "Do you guys want to come?"
Niall looked behind him at Liam watching the television. He sighed and pushed Harry into the hallway, closing the door behind the two.
"I don't think he wants to leave," Niall said.
Harry frowned. "Is he still upset? I thought you came over here to make him feel better? We can't go out to eat without you two! It won't be the same! It's Christmas Eve and Lou's birthday! You have to come!"
Niall frowned, feeling guilty. "I don't want to make him feel bad, Harry. He already feels like shit."
Harry sighed and leaned against the wall. "Have you told him yet? Maybe that'll help him feel better," he suggested quietly.
"Told him what?" Niall asked for clarification. Harry couldn't have meant what Niall thought he did. It was impossible.
"How you feel," he explained.
Niall's eyes widened. "What? I don't know what you're talking about."
Harry rolled his eyes. "It's obvious you love him, Niall."
"Do I really make it that obvious?" He asked with a sigh.
Yes, it was true. Niall did love Liam. He couldn't help but fall for his smile, his childlike demeanor, his obsession with Toy Story and obscure phobia of spoons. Niall found his best mate adorable in every way possible. He knew it was wrong to like him in such a way, but he couldn't help it. Everybody loved Liam.
It's not to say that Niall was happy with Liam's girlfriend breaking up with him, because he wasn't. All he wanted was for Liam to be happy, even if it wasn't he whom was making him happy. But he didn't hate the fact that Liam was now single.
"Not really," Harry said with a shrug. "I just kind of figured."
"Oh," the Irish boy said quietly.
"You should tell him," he suggested. "It would be a great Christmas gift."
Niall scoffed. "You must be mental. He's in a fragile state. I can't just tell him I love him. Plus, I don't even know if he's likes me in that way."
