It was just any other day for Elizabeth Smith, another boring day. She started her morning by opening up her curtains followed by her window and proceeded to take a deep breath of the summer breeze brushing through the trees of the early morning. After sitting by the window for a few minutes waking up, she got herself up and walked over to the bathroom to start her day nice and fresh for her first day of school. After having a shower, straightening her hair, brushing her teeth, and putting on some mascara and powder, she wandered down the stairs into the kitchen and there her mother was waiting for her to eat the stack of pancakes dripping with chocolate sauce with some chopped up strawberries on the top she had made her. After devouring them in a few minutes, Elizabeth had to head off to school. So she said goodbye to her dog, Peanut, her mother, Susan, and her father, George. Elizabeth grabbed her keys to her black Mercedes that her parents had given to her for her 16th birthday, and drove over to Rebeccas house, her best friend, to pick her up. Rebecca hadn't yet received her driving license due to her accidentally driving into a gym on 5th Avenue street in May.
Rebecca only lived a few blocks so Elizabeth drove into her driveway a couple of minutes after, then beeped the horn 10 times and out came a new Rebecca. Rebecca had always been big boned, her whole life, she had been bullied for how big she was, she always used to wear big baggy clothes, a beanie, mismatched socks and a school bag that was for 5 year olds; one with little girlie badges and pink key chains dangling from the zippers. But I was gobsmacked when I saw her, she was super skinny; she was wearing a crop top (which wasn't covering much), short shorts, long black nails, hair extensions, and a hand bag instead of a school bag. Elizabeth hadn't seen her since the school holidays, because her family had spent summer in London due to her father getting promoted to 'Lieutenant Smith'. She was so excited to see Rebecca, she jumped out of her car and they gave each other her the biggest hug. They drove off, heading to the high school. Once parked up, they headed to their designated classroom but unfortunately the best friends were separated. Elizabeth being the antisocial girl she is, sat at the back of the classroom, got a book and started to read it. However on the other hand, Rebecca fit right in with all of the popular girls, they were showing each other their tan marks from this summer, exchanging phone numbers and talking about the cute boys.
*bell ringing*
Mr Elemey entered Elizabeth's classroom, he introduced himself, and made everyone in the class stand up and introduce them self's. First was Suzy, Suzy had been in Elizabeth's class since they were little, but they had a bad relationship due to a fight they had years ago. Then it was Derek's turn, then Amy's, Alex's, Beth's and unfortunately it was my time to introduce myself, I stood up, and while standing up, somehow my backpack strap got stuck around my ankle, causing me to fall flat down on my face in front of EVERYONE. Mr Elemey came running over and helped me up and asked me if I needed to go to the nurse's station because my nose was bleeding, but I just said no, grabbed my stuff and ran to the bathroom. Whilst I was going out the door, I turned around and saw Aj, Ruben, David and Mikey, the captain of the hockey team, snickering as I limped out of the classroom with blood dripping down my face.
