"Hey can you go pick up some lettuce from the grocery store? I forgot it for the burgers!" My mother asked me as I was coming downstairs to grab a snack.

"I mean, I would be down but I don't feel like getting out, I have to work on my college applications today. If I want to get into a good college I have to start now!" I yell at my mom who is sitting in the living room as I'm in the kitchen. To be honest, I didn't plan on working on my college applications, I was just trying to facetime my best friend who I haven't seen in a week.

"Trinity! You haven't been out of the house in weeks. I'm starting to get worried, you know that your father still loves you right? He moved away to find happiness, he always hated living here." My mom started shouting but got quieter as she walked into the kitchen and caught me looking through the fridge. I do know that my father still loves me, but it feels like he left me. I mean he just up and left, who does that?

"Yea I know, I guess I'll go." I only agreed because I hate to see my mother worry about me. "Let me go get dressed and at least brush my hair, I'll be back in fifteen minutes." I said as I grabbed a banana and ran upstairs. I started to get dressed and sat on the bed to take some deep breathes. "My mom is right, I have to get out more, I'm pushing my friends away. I mean summer break ends in two weeks! I spent the entire break depressed and stuck in bed, I have to make these last two weeks worth it." I thought to myself. I jumped up with confidence and grabbed my banana, my keys, and my mom's debit card and ran out the door. I started the car and put on my throwbacks songs playlist that always helped hype me up when I play it very loudly. I didn't look the prettiest, I had leggings and a hoodie on and my hair in a messy bun, but I felt the prettiest ever. I drove to Kroger's which was only five minutes away, and sat in the car for a good minute building up the confidence to go into the store. After finishing a sad ass Taylor Swift song, I took the keys out of the car and walked confidently inside.

"Welcome to Kroger's" The worker said as I walked into the store. I just smiled and nodded as I normally do. I headed straight to the produce aisle because I was on a mission to get in and out of the store. I wasn't paying any attention and ran straight into someone, causing him to drop pickle jar that shattered all over the floor.

"Woah! Watch where you're going!" The man yelled at me. The entire store turned to look at what was going on. I was completely embarrassed and mortified.
