'Dude Look Behind You'

I'm so annoyed because I wrote this whole part out and when I went to spell check the whole thing had gone! So this may not be a very good part and might seem a little rushed, I'm so sorry if it is

The Origin Part 2/4

Once we arrive at Jakes we sit down on the couch. I sit next to Colby while Sam sits opposite us with the camera facing us. Colby takes out the note Tim gave us and begins to open up the note, something falls out. I pick it up and it looks like some sort of gemstone. I put it on the table as Colby begins to read out the note
"Ok so the note says 'use for protection, look out for one another' and then whatever the hell that is" Colby points to the paper and Sam brings the camera over to show the note. I peer over his shoulder to look, I see some dots and dashes
"Let's see" Jake holds out this hand and Colby gives him the note "looks like Braille"
"Could be morse code" I shrug
"Well this must be some sort of thing for protection because he's a demonologist" Sam
"Ok well let's carry them in the back pack and if anyone knows what this means then let us know" Colby points to the dots and dashes.

We chill for a little bit before Sam picks up the camera again
"He kept blaming it on us, like he never said that the bridge was haunted but when we held the device he basically said it only likes you and I" Sam points to himself and Colby
"Yeah because whenever we had that thing it was blue and at one point I asked him what does it mean and he was like I have no idea I've never seen that happen before"
"Yeah I'll admit that was weird like why would it only go blue to you?" I look at Colby who shrugs
"And he was talking about all these people who are haunted, people being haunted, objects being haunted not places" Sam says and Colby sighs
"But it didn't happen to Jake" I point to Jake who smiles
"I'm good then" Jake chuckles
"Then why only us?" Colby asks
"That's what I guess we're trying to figure out"
"Wait. You know how you keep the Jonas brother cut out in your apartment. Well he said this, your hot I'm cold"
"You go around like you know" Jake and Colby sing
"Who I am but you don't you've got me on my toes" I yell singing. The boys all look at me the laugh
"But seriously you know what this reminds me of still, the witches forest"
"Oh my god" I say coming to the realisation on something "the death card, what if this is still the witches forest. Like the end of a chapter wasn't with Corey leaving. What if it's this series. This is like part 2 of the witches forest"
"Actually makes sense" Jake nods.

After talking more about it all Jake decides it's a great idea to put the stones up his nose
"That's either gonna get stuck or we're gonna have bad shit happen now" I cross my arms
"Woah dude dude. Look behind you" Sam says, I quickly look around and catch a glimpse of a light
"What the fuck is that?" Jake says
"Come outside right now" Sam struggles to open Jakes door as he is so panicked. We rush out and I see Jake fall
"Jake are you ok?" I ask crouching next to him as Sam is looking for what made that light. Jake cradles his foot
"It feels like I broke my toe" he says and I can see the pain in his eyes
"I saw a flashing light like right here"
"Are you sure it wasn't a car or something?" Colby asks, Colby didn't see the light at all
"N-N-no it came from over here and it was like a strobe light flashing like 20 times" Jake motions where the light was "it looked like we were going to be raided by police or something. The light was going straight through the window"
"What actually happened?" Sam asks
"He tripped" I say helping Jake up
"And ate shit" I nudge Colby who laughs.

A little while later and Jake is on the phone for like the 3rd time tonight. I'm sat with Colby who has his arm around me, I'm texting the girls group chat which is blowing up. Sam films Colby and I and they talk about how Jake has been acting a little weird today. I just keep texting the girls. Once he's off the phone he comes back over to us and sits down in a seat. Sam gets the camera out again
"So what's next?" Sam asks
"You wanna go back home tonight? It's only a 3 hour drive"
"Sure I mean we can swap over if you get tired" I shrug
"Do you think that I should come with you guys" we all look at Jake confused "I'm just thinking because the dude said I'm fine I haven't got anything to figure out. Tara's worried, my parents are worried and I haven't been here for a while so if it's cool with you guys if I could just stay here and hang out with family and friends. Also my toe really hurts and I don't want to make it any worse"
"So you don't want to come, is what your saying" I slap Colby's thigh a little as if to say 'be nice'. I know he's just a little upset but sometimes that can come off as being an asshole
"If, if that's cool. I just have a lot of reasons not to" Jake says looking upset
"I mean we obviously want you to come with us but we can't force you to so if you don't want to come you don't have to. Errm Sam can I just chat with you outside for a minute" Sam nods and gets up. They walk out the house
"Are they mad at me" Jake asks worriedly
"No they aren't mad with you just a little disappointed that's all. First Corey doesn't want to come and now you, I guess it's just worry that the group with split up" I smile at him
"I'm sorry, I really am but I'm not the one who's got things to figure out"
"I know and they know that. They will get over it don't worry"

Jake and I carry on chatting then it's time for us to leave. I give Jake a hug and walk into the back of the car while the boys all say goodbye to each other. Colby gets in the drivers side and Sam gets into the car passenger seat. I sigh
"Are you ok Talia?" Sam asks
"Yeah it just feels weird sitting in the back on my own" I lean my head on the window and close my eyes "I'm gonna take a nap. Wake me up when we've arrived or if you get tired"
"Ok baby sleep well"
"Here" Sam says and I open my eyes to see Sam handing me a blanket
"Thanks" I yawn and once again close me eyes quickly falling asleep.
