~ Chapter 3: Coming out and Telling the Truth ~

            Mason wakes up and looks at his phone "It's the weekend! Yay!!' Mason notices he has bunches of texts from Lucas, so he facetimes Lucas "Hey baby!" Lucas smiles. Mason yawns "It's the weekend!" Mason then hears his mom get up and makes her coffee downstairs. "Wait bb?" Lucas looks confused "What's wrong?" Mason sighs "How do I come out to my mom? That I'm gay and I have you as my boyfriend.." Lucas looks at the phone as Mason puts his head down. "Hey, hey, put your head up and take your time. If she doesn't accept you, just say 'I know you don't accept me, and I understand that.'  then come to my house." Mason nods and hangs up and takes a deep breath and then exhales "You can do this Mason. You got it."

   Mason walks to his mom and gets bad anxiety but tries his best to hide it. "Hey May May. How did you sleep?" Marie asks when sitting on the couch with her coffee and turning on the news. "I slept good... But mama, I need to tell you something important." Mason goes to the couch and sits next to his mom looking at his own feet. Marie turns the volume down on the TV and sips her coffee looking at Mason "Yes sweetie? I am all ears!" Mason takes a deep breath and exhales again.

   "Mom... you may or may not be proud of me or accept me for who-" Marie coughs "Sir, I will accept you for whoever you are! You're my son! If I didn't accept you as your mom, I'd be a te-" Mason screeches not meaning to "Sorry mom. But can I finish?" Marie nods. "I'm gay and i have a boyfriend..." Marie puts her coffee down and claps and hugs Mason. "Oh May May! Im happy you found someone in your life that loves you and, being gay?! Omg! Your father had so many friends that were gay. They used to come over when you were little and they played with  you, days and days on end!" Mason jumps around "Thank you so much for accepting me Mama! I love you!" Marie smiles "Mhm, that's my boy! Also, make sure he doesn't hurt you. And if he does, You know Uncle Dylan will come and get him and beat his butt. Okay? If he hurts you once, you come to me to tell Uncle Dylan or you text him yourself. You have his number so you can." Mason nods and runs upstairs and calls Lucas "Baby! My mom accepted me! She's proud" Lucas smiles "Yay! That's good. But in all seriousness, can I come over? I have stomach cramps and want cuddles'' Lucas acted serious for once. Mason gets a weird feeling but shakes it off "Oh. Um... Yeah you can. I'll be at the door waiting" Mason hangs up and screams into a pillow "He isn't in a good mood... I think I'll install the camera I got for my 15th birthday. '' Mason quickly puts the camera up on his wall and tests it through his phone and then sits on the bed waiting for Lucas. "This is just in case something goes wrong. I can tell some things about him and I don't know what. I'm not even gonna ask. Just in case he gives me an attitude. And it's so my mom can see what he does if he's rude.." Mason looks at the door as he hears a slight knock. "Yes? Whom may you be?" Lucas comes in "Helo." Mason smiles lightly. Lucas lays down and puts his head in Mason's lap and holds his stomach "This hurts like heck." Mason looks at Lucas's stomach "How long have you started having this stomach ache or issue?" Lucas looks up at the ceiling then at Masons LED lights. "Since last week... I don't remember what I ate or something, but it started to hurt like hell."

        Mason nods "It looks swollen to me. Maybe you should get that checked out tomorrow. Your 17 so you should be able to go on your own" Lucas nods again "I'm gonna have you come with me. I can't be at the emergency room alone" Mason smiles and strokes Luca's hair "Then if you have to stay overnight, which will probably happen. I will ask if you can set up a meeting or something over Zoom or a Google Meet to do your school work and I will be here with you at the hospital." Lucas smiles and gets up running to the bathroom and throwing up "Sickness" Mason gets up and goes to the bathroom door "Is the pain really bad to the point we need to go today?" Mason asks knocking on the door "Yeah... I think so baby.." Lucas stands up and opens the door "Now i'm really dizzy. WoAh-" Lucas falls into Masons arms. "Let me ask if  I can take my moms car and we can go"

      Mason goes downstairs and goes to his mom's office. "Hey Mom? Lucas is having serious stomach pain and it's getting bad. May I take your car to the emergency room? I have my permit in my pocket and plus the hospital is down the street so I should be fine" Marie nods "Tell him I hope he's okay" Marie hands Mason the car keys and helps Lucas downstairs and brings him to the car and gets him comfortable and gets him a bag to throw up in. Mason starts the car and buckles in driving to the ER.

                             ~ At the Emergency Room ~

               Mason sits down on the chair and holds Lucas's cold hand. Lucas coughs "I hate this so much" Mason nods "I know. Doesn't help that the hospital rooms are freezing cold." Lucas looks at Mason with red teary eyes. "Just know, if anything bad or goes wrong today, I love you forever and always. I don't want you to cry. I want you to be happy and find someone else after me. Okay?" Mason tears up, not knowing what to say and starts to overthink. "I will never move on after you. NEVER. You will be the last one I date after a couple months. After this relationship, I will wait till I'm at least 17-18 years old to date." Lucas smiles "Good... I really do hope I survive with whatever I have in this stomach thing. Could be a stomach tumor. Could be a Kidney stone. We won't know until later on when the doctors come in"

    The doctor comes in and goes to Lucas "What's going on?" Lucas sits up "Really bad stomach pain. Throwing up. Dizziness and random coldness" The doctor lifts Lucas's shirt up "It looks very swollen" The doctor touches Lucas's stomach and feels around it "Did you guys do anything?" Lucas and Mason shake their heads. "You could have stomach cancer or a Kidney Stone or a stomach tumor. Which could lead to death if not treated properly or surgery" The doctor gets an x-ray and does an x-ray over Lucas. "Yep, It's a stomach tumor. Looks like it's going into stomach cancer" Mason starts to cry as Lucas looks at the doctor "What can we do about it?" The doctor takes his clipboard out and looks at Lucas " Admitte surgery." Lucas nods "Do it now... I don't want it to get bad." The doctor nods to and closes the curtain and grabs clothes for Lucas as Lucas looks at Mason "Baby, calm down. I'm okay. Just gonna go into surgery and be out in no time" Mason nods and sniffs as the doctor helps Lucas get changed and brings him into surgery. Mason stays at the ER by himself until Lucas gets out of surgery. As Mason was about to sit down, he saw something he wished he had never seen...
