Before I knew it, men in black suits shoved needles into our necks.
Everything went black.

I woke up in a dark room. I was sitting up, but I couldn't move a muscle.
I was sore all over, and something was pressed against my back.
A person.
"Ren?" I asked, my voice echoing throughout the room.
"Claire...where are we?" His voice filled my ears.
A beat of silence stood, but then a rumbling sound was heard and a large door opened on the wall.
Blinding sunlight shone over us and I noticed rope tied around our wrists.
No one was out there, so neither of us had a clue as to why the door had opened.
"Let's get out of here." I began tugging and pulling on the rope. I managed to slip my small hands out.
"Help." Ren shook his hands in the air.
"Okay. Hold still." I bit part of the rope off and ripped the rest with my hands.
"Thanks." He smiled and grabbed my hand to pull me up.
"We need to go." He led me out the door and I recognized the surroundings. We were behind the school.
"Hello Ren and Claire. We have decided as a government to let you walk free. If, and only if, you keep brown eye contacts on your imperfections." A loud voice boomed from an unknown location.
"What the hell is he calling imperfections? Your perfect." He smirked and pulled me in playfully.
"You're too kind." I said.
"I don't care if they want me to hide forever. I won't do it. I'd rather be killed." His serious tone came all of a sudden.
"Me too. I'm not going to school anymore. It's dangerous!" I said as we walked down a back road.
"We can be drop-outs together!" He smiled, excited.
Why is he excited about this?
"I need to go home, walk me?" I smiled, but silently pleading.
"Of course. We're almost there." He pointed ahead.
"Meet me out here when your parents make you get ready for school. I have an idea." He held my hips and kissed me gently.
He pulled away and I instantly felt alone again. I wanted to reach out and grab him.

The next morning I locked my door and crawled out the window. I walked to the spot that he told me to meet him.
"Hey babe. We're protesting." Ren said with smirk.
He had at least ten posterboards all around him, and 2 cans of black paint.
"Well okay then." I said half sarcastic. I grabbed a posterboard.
"Protesting for what exactly?" I asked, still not knowing.
"Difference. Being different. The theory is that we get the help of the people since the government won't help us." He started smearing the paint onto the white surface of the poster.
The letters spelled out:
JOIN US & BE DIFFERENT"This is a good idea, Ren! But how do we find ten people to support us without dying?" He ignored me and kept painting, so I took the hint and stopped asking questions.
