"So, do you guys like ice cream?"
Chan holds back a laugh as Jae awkwardly sits across the members of Stray Kids. Got7 were in another meeting for how they would address rumors to the public, and Mark thought it was the perfect time to get acquainted with her new dorm mates.
Mhm, dorm mates. Living with Stray Kids for the next week and a half.
Chan loved the idea, but Jae being clueless to this situation was scared out of her mind. Sure they were cool guys, but having to live with them? She was a bit apprehensive.
"Jae, you don't need to be awkward with us." Felix laughs. "We'll do our best to try and make sure you're comfortable in the dorm." he assures causing a blush to rush across her face.
"I like ice cream." Chan murmurs but it can only be heard by Minho who was sitting next to him.
The boy was in love and everyone could see it. Besides the person he was in love with.
"You'll get first dibs for the bathroom in the morning and at night, and we'll set up the living room couch but if you want to switch rooms with anyone just tell us." Minho speaks up elbowing Chan in the side.
Chan replaces his slight pout with a soft smile once his eyes meet Jae's. He could see how nervous she is, he could feel her heartbeat with his.
Soulmates were such an odd thing. When you're together you become one, you can feel the other person. It's a feeling Chan hoped to never be without.
"You can play League with me!" Jeongin excitedly says almost jumping out of his seat.
She chuckles at the excitement of the youngest boy. They were born the same year, and she found it fun to finally have a friend her age.
"Thank you for accepting me so openly." she addresses all the boys. "I'm very lucky that you are all so kind." a slight blush finds its way to her face as she makes eye contact with Chan who basically has hearts in his pupils.
"Of course, you're always welcomed when it comes to Stray Kids." he says with a smile.
Jae couldn't tell why feeling of her heart thumping out of her chest was happening, it felt exactly like it did on the plane, like it felt whenever she looked at Chris.
She had no idea why she felt this way. But whenever she looked at him, he just felt so familiar. It felt like she had been reunited with someone she had been waiting for all her life.
It wasn't just the aussie accent, or the way he protected her from Got7's manager without a second thought. It was something different.
Guilt immediately plagued her body taking over any feelings she was about to have.
Chan is her soulmate. There shouldn't be anyone else who is stuck on her mind.
Before she's able to let the guilt swallow her whole, the door opens to Mark, Jinyoung, and Bambam.
"You guys should head to your dorm, it's almost 3 am." Jinyoung announces. "Jae your stuff is in their manager's car, you'll come back here tomorrow and meet up with Mark."
Mark walks over to Jae with teary eyes.
He felt like this whole thing had been his fault. Jae never wanted to be known in the public, but now every netizen was gonna know who she is.
"Mark it's gonna be okay." she gets up out of her seat to comfort him.
He envelopes her into a hug letting the tears run down to her shoulder as he mutters apologies into her ear.
The heartbreaking scene was cut off by the door slamming open.
All eyes turn towards the door.
"Oh my bad, did I just ruin the moment?" an apologetic Jackson asks closing the door slowly again.
He joins Bambam and Jinyoung who were exchanging their information with Stray Kids in case something happened.
"Yah, i'm trying to apologize." Mark complains wiping off his tears with a small chuckle. "Stay safe okay, if you need any of us you can call." he pats Jae's head softly.
Jae had forgiven him long before all of this. To her there was nothing to forgive.
"Don't worry, it's gonna be okay." she assures him.
She turns to the rest of the boys who were finishing up exchanging numbers.
She saw Hyunjin and Jeongin who looked like they were half asleep already. Felix and Jisung were huddled up together in one chair as Minho looked over at them with a strange look on his face. Changbin was talking to Jackson, trading his phone back from Jinyoung. Chris was watching over all of them, that feeling in her heart was back, but this time she didn't feel guilty.
She just smiled and gave Mark one last hug for the night.
It was going to be okay.
