It was a warm summer day, girls dancing in there bathing suits to music. Guys laughing at how ridiculous the girls looked, imitating them in a disrespectful manner. My friends Lucy, Mary, and Dot, are all sitting by the lakeside, flirting with the "CoolKats", Gerry, and Albert. I decided to enjoy my day, by floating in the water, letting the water take me where it wanted. As I floated, I moved peacefully throughout the lake. I decided that it was time to get out of the water since my hands were pruning, and as I got out of the water, and stood by the picnic basket. A guy on a motorcycle pulled up beside the lake. I will never forget how his bike helmet had been painted to look as though wings were on it. As he pulled up to the curb, he stopped using his foot to balance himself as he got off the seat. He slowly lifted his helmet, and let out his sleek black hair, and said "I'm Donnie."

"Who do you think you are rolling your bike over here, ruining the grass like that." I say

" Why, I'm Donnie Taylor, and might i say your one huge 'fuddy-duddy'." He said quite enthusiastically.

"Why don't you scram, wise guy." I would reply with the utmost disrespect. "

"Who are you, the Queen of Sheba?" He would reply with no respect for the fact that he is speaking to a lady, not one of his buddy's.

"Why I outta" I replied.

" Alright, look, I gotta split, but I'll see YOU later, toots *wink*." He said.

As I watched him drive away, I knew that that moment was the start of a new rivalry. Gerry came over to consul me, but I rejected his sympathetic attempt. I said my goodbye's and made my way back to my house with Lucy, Mary, and Dot alongside me. The walk home was mainly silent, and awkward as you might say. I walked down the street and noticed a moving truck parked in the driveway next door. I was puzzled by who was moving in, after all the house has been vacant for years. I walked through the light brown, wooden door, that lead to the inside of my house.

"Hey mom, how was work?" I would say

"Fine sweetie, what are you doing in that bathing suit, your showing too much skin. Take that off immediately." She would reply.

I would run upstairs, to change my clothes as I listened to the radio.

"Honey, put on something nice alright, the new neighbors invited us to dinner, and I want to make a good first impression." My mom said.

I put on my white dress, with a laced pattern at the bottom, with a sweet heart neckline. I wore my black and white oxfords, to match with the color scheme of the outfit. I made my way down the stairs, out the front door, and into the yard to wait for my mom. She slowly made her way out, looking as if she had not a care in the world, considering we were 5 minutes late. We walked up too the door, myself in the dark about who now occupied this house. As we knocked on the door, I could see a figure begin to open the door. As the door became fully open I heard a familiar voice say...YOU!!

"It's you" he said

"Hey, your that kid from the lake, you...live....here?" I said
