The stench of must and and dirt infect my lungs.

This isn't my room.

My eyes slowly open, afraid to see where I am and what has happened. I blink away the groggy sleepiness and look around the small square room illuminated by one single light bulb hanging from the ceiling.

Every wall holds pictures. Old crinkled ones, new ones. All taped up. But that's not the scary part.

The most terrifying part was that they are all of me. My first day of school in first grade. My first time riding a bike. My graduation from middle school. My whole life was captured and put up on the four white walls that surround me. Even the door is covered in them.

I try to sit up but I'm restrained. I finally realize that I'm strapped onto an old dingy bed. My arms above me are held by thick rope. And so are my legs.

I'm covered in dirt and my body is bare and uncovered. Even though there's no draft in here, goose bumps pop up. My heart starts to beat rapidly. I try to take deep breaths but none of the air will come to me.

The room feels as though it's getting smaller.

What do I do? I think.

The only clear explanation that my brain comes up with is to scream. So I do.

I holler.

I kick.

I scream my lungs out for who knows how long.

And finally after what feels like hours. The door opens.

A large figure stands in the door way. The man seems to be over 50 and has a a dark complexion. His eyes are an icy cold swirl of grays. His jaw is strong and holds small prickles, indicating that he hasn't shaved in a while. His broad shoulders and chest are compressed in a dark blue button down and he's wearing black slacks.

His thin lips twitch and rise up into a smirk as he eyes me. My heart drops to my stomach and I feel my eyes water. My throat goes even more dry than it did before.

Standing before me is my kidnapper.

"Hello princess, ready to have some fun?" His smile is cynical and can hold all the evil in the world.

The only thought that runs through my head is this:

Help.
