Ali's POV~
My mom and dad died three weeks ago. I moved to Texas two weeks ago. And I started therapy a week ago, because grandma said I seem "Sad". My parents just died, how else would I be? It doesn't matter anyways cuz i lie with almost everything she asks. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to talk to some lady, that i don't even know, about my problems.
Today is Saturday and I'm on my laptop looking at pictures of my parents. They looked so happy. There was a knock at my bedroom door. It was my grandma. I quickly closed my laptop as she opened the door. "Honey a girl named Bre said she's here to see you, should I send her up?" "Yes, please". Bre is my friend from school. I've known her for a week.
I herd Bre running up the stairs. She knocked before she walked in my room. "Hey" I said. "Hey, what are you doing?" "Nothing, I was just sitting here on my computer" "Oh" " Hey, let's go do something!!" i said. "like what?" "I don't know, i just don't want to stay here. My grandma keeps checking up on me every 30 minutes!" Bre laughed then said "OK then let's go to the park" " OK just let me put my shoes on." " Well hurry up cuz it's getting late."
I told my grandma I was leaving and that if I wasn't back before ten, I would spend the night with Bre. She said ok. She doesn't care if i leave the house as long as i have my phone turned on. As we walked to the park we talked about the kids at school. We mostly talked about Julia. Julia was like a barbie doll: blonde, great body, but most of all, fake.
" I've hated Julia since the 6th grade" said bre. "Why?" i asked. " We were in school and she said some stuff about me so i punched her in the face, then it turned into a fight." "Oh" i said almost face planting into the sidewalk, but she didn't notice. "Yea, after that i got suspended and she got nothing." "Well that was stupid." "Hell yea is was." she said. "When i was in class, Mrs. Smith said we could do what we wanted for the last ten minutes and this cute guy started talking to me then Julia came over and started talking to him like i wasn't even there." "Cuz she's rude... look there's the park."
We got to the park around 5:30 and it was just starting to get dark outside. There was just a few kids playing on the playground. Bre and I sat on the swing set. She looked at me with a confused look then said "Wait you said something about a cute guy?" "Yea, but i didn't get his name because Julia interrupted me." "Well what does he look like?" "He has dark brown hair and his eyes are a blue-ish green." "Oh, that's Keagan. A lot of girls like him, but he's not the relationship type" "Oh." i said. "Why? Did you like him?" "Kind of but i guess it doesn't matter" I said lightly pushing myself on the swing.
We sat there for a couple of minutes quietly swinging. Then Bre spoke up "Yesterday when we were in Mr. Williams class he had asked a question and when you raised your hand your sleeve slid down, and i saw your arm." I looked up and she was looking at the ground. I looked back at the ground then asked "You didn't tell anyone, did you?" "No, and i won't." she said. "Thanks."
"If you don't mind me asking, why do you do it?" I tried thinking of a lie but she was nice enough to not tell anyone, the least i could do was tell her the truth. "Um.... I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when i was 12. It got worse about almost a month ago when my parents died in a car accident." She studied my expression, I guess to see if i was lying. "Oh, I'm so sorry" "It's fine."
"Okay, now let's do something fun. I didn't come here to be sad" i said jokingly. She chuckled then said " I heard that Emily is throwing a party, wanna go?" "I don't know, isn't she one of the populars?" "Kind of, but she isn't mean though." "Then let's go" i said excitedly. "Okay, then let's go to my house to get ready."
