I woke to yelling. I came to and realised that it was Mari's voice. I was immediately out of bed and ran to the sound of her voice. I rounded the corner of the kitchen and saw Anthony firmly holding onto Mari, with his face pressed to hers. She was resisting, trying to push him away. I crossed the floor in 2 seconds. I hauled him off of Mari. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOURE DOING?" I screamed at him, not really caring what the other residents thought. Mari looked absolutely terrified. I gently tugged on her arm and pulled her behind me. I flashbacked to the incident with my sister and found it ironic how I switched roles. "She clearly doesn't enjoy being around you anymore, she told me herself!" He yelled back. I shoved him into the sink behind him. He's so full of shit, Mari would never say something like that. "STOP!" Mari cried out from behind me, working her way in front. "We are going to be staying together for the next couple weeks or so. He was kind enough to stay and support us, so I think we should cut him some slack. AND YOU," she said as she rounded on Anthony, "Need to know your boundaries." The phone started ringing. We all looked at it. Mari sighed and strode forward to pick it up. Her face changed rapidly from worried to misery. "David, we need to go to the hospital right now," she said urgently. "Why? What happened? How are we supposed to get there?" I said quickly. What now? We ran outside. "It's almost 11 0' clock. There are no buses in service, what are we going to do?" There was man outside, leaning against a car. "Hey, excuse me, could we bother you for a ride?" I asked the man. He responded immediately and graciously. "Well of cour-" He was cut off by Mari's yelling, "David, the bus runs all night. There's one pulling up now, let's go!" I turned around and lo and behold, there was a frekiang bus.

We had to switch bus lines once to get to the hospital. On the way there, Mari was telling me how Suzuki went into shutdown mode or something. Also that she most likely will not make it.

When we arrived at the hospital, I noticed that the car that was at our motel was sitting here in the parking lot. We totally should've gotten a ride with that guy, we would've been here by now. We walked through the front doors and ran straight to the desk. We were directed up to the floor that Suzuki was on. We found her in the nursery with doctors and nurses leaning over her, administering medication and God knows what else. We heard her cry once before she went under. Mari burst into tears upon hearing her daughter's cry.

That was probably the longest night I have ever experienced.

Around 6:30 AM, the doctors walked in and told us that Suzuki was stable, but still in the intensive care unit. We would be lucky to still have her by the end of the week.
