“Y/n?”
I heard my name coming from a very familiar voice. It sounded like…
“Jakie?” – I confusingly said as I turned around.
I quickly let go off Yoon-gi and started running towards Jakie. I hug him tightly almost leaving him with no air to breathe. I haven't seen him in a while and I unquestionably missed him a lot.
“You are suffocating me!” – he said in a low tone.
“I'm sorry I just missed you!”
Yoon-gi was standing there speechless, looking at us confused as he balled his eyes out.
“Have you been ok?” – Jakie said.
“Not the best, but not the worst either! Wait… do you know-“
“Yes! When you left the bar I went home. The next day I didn’t see you come at my shop at all so I went to check on you. Your father said you hadn't been at home since the moment you said you would move out. He didn't seem to care at all though so I started to look for you by myself. Prince Jung-kook’s guard came to my shop to buy him some new paint. Prince Jung-kook has been a regular costumer to our shop, but he usually sends his men to pick up the supplies. He was the one who told me. Also, the TV is always talking about the seven mysterious brides. I tried coming to the palace for you but the guards didn't let me in.” – He carefully explained.
I’m so sorry, everything happened so fast I didn’t have the time to keep in contact with you. Also, I lost my phone when I got kidnapped by Jin!” – I responded.
“Wait, you were kidnapped! I thought you wanted to become Jin’s wife! Did he actually force you to be with him?”
“Kind of… yeah.”
“Ok, I love this bonding moment between you too but we have to go right now or I will get late for work and Jin will throw a fit!” – Yoon-gi said as he cut us off.
“I will come with you!” – Jakie said.
“I don’t think the guards are going to let you in but sure. Let's just speed this a little, ok?”
We went to the palace fast. Yoon-gi seemed to be drowning in thoughts while me and Jakie talked through out the whole road. Once we got to the palace’s entrance, the guards stopped Jakie from walking in.
“He is with me.” – Yoon-gi said.
The guards stepped away as they bowed down.
“H-hyung! Can I call you hyung? I owe you a big time. Thank you!” – Jakie smilingly expressed.
I could see Yoon-gi getting flustered.
“J-just don’t do anything stupid, ok? I won't be there to help you. I have to go to the fencing class now. Behave well and don't let Jin see you two! Got it?” – Yoon-gi responded.
“Yes! Thank you, Yoon-gi! You are the best from all the brothers I have met!” – I said.
“Yeah-yeah… I know.”
He said as we watched him leave. Me and Jakie quickly ran to my bedroom and hid there.
“Wow! This palace looked smaller from afar. It’s almost as big as Ulsan!”
“Hahaha- it's not THAT big, but yeah! I haven't explored the whole place myself either. I have only seen th-“
Before I could finish, we heard knockings coming from the door. It was the guards…
“Hide! Now!” – I whispered.
“Wha- Where?”
“In the bathroom! Quick!”
He hid in the bathroom as I opened the door for the guards.
“Where is he?”
“Who?” – I tried to act it off.
“The guy you came here with! Prince Jin wants to meet him.” – The guard said.
“Oh- Jakie! He left a long time ago! Didn't you see him leave?”
“Ma'am, the palace is full of guards everywhere you go! How come no one saw him?”
“I don't know! Isn't that your job?”
“Move! I’ll check your room!”
“What the hell, you can't just do that! Respect my privacy!” – I said as I tried to stop him from entering my room. He didn't seem to care though as he barged in rudely. He turned the place upside-down, searching for Jakie. I was sweating heavily as I watched him heading for the bathroom.
“What is going on here?”
A manly voice came from the front bedroom door. It was…
“P-prince Jung-kook! Prince Jin told the guards to look for someone.” – The guard said unconfidently.
“You have no right to barge in through someone’s room like this! Go!”
“O-ok, I’m sorry for disturbing you ma’am!” – The guard said as he bowed down and left.
“Are you ok?” – he said, - “Jakie! You can come out now!”
“Oh, prince Jung-kook!”
Jakie came out from the bathroom. I was confused. I was staring at them as they went for a quick handshake. It looked like they were close with each-other.
“What are you doing here? I heard Jin talking about you with the guards. I was searching for you until I noticed the open door here.”
“Oh, I came to visit Y/n. She is my childhood friend.”
“Y-yes, but how do you two know each-other.” – I intervened.
“I told you prince Jung-kook was a regular customer at our shop. He has come there once or twice.”
“If it wasn't for Jakie’s paint, I wouldn't even know what I would do.”
“Oh, it's really nothing! Prince would you mind doing me a favor?”
“Yes, of course! What is it?”
“Well, you see Y/n has been my best friend for a long time so I would like to be close with her, even though she will be living in the palace. Would you mind finding me a job here?”
“What?” – I said, - “Jakie you don't have to do this!”
“Yes but I want to be with you when you get married. Plus my life without you would be basic.” – He said smilingly.
“Hmm…I do need a new assistant since the last one got fired. Would you like becoming my assistant?” – Jung-kook questioned.
“Yes! That is perfect!”
“Ok, but don't think you will be standing around with nothing to do!”
“Of course not! I will be your best assistant, I promise!” – Jakie confidently said.
“Alright then, you can start your work tomorrow.”
“Thank you, sir! I won’t let you down.”
“Oh, and stop being so formal around me. You can just call me hyung!”
“O-ok, hyung!”
“I have to go now. If you meet Jin just tell me, I will talk with him. It's not like he listens to me anyways…” – Jung-kook said as he left.
