TW: mentions of abuse

"Hi Hendery, can you leave?" Jungwoo asked softly when they finally made it back to Lucas's dorm.

The boys face contorted in confusion, "I actually—"

"I'm sorry but I need to talk to Lucas about something, I'll give you ten dollars tomorrow."

A smile spread across his face as he started packing up the things around him, "You should've started with that. Have fun I'll be back in a few hours."

"We really don't have anything to talk about—I don't know why you made him leave," Lucas muttered before flopping down onto his bed.

"Oh we have a lot to talk about, sweety," The elder said softly, grabbing his boyfriends hand and pulling him up. "I know you don't want to talk about any of this...so why don't we just get it over with? I noticed how anxious you were at your house, just little things but I'm still worried."

Lucas nodded, knowing the boy was right. Although he had yet to say a word, there were already welling in his eyes. "I really love you, Jungwoo...and I'm just scared. What if I tell you this and...and you can't see me as the same person?"

"Unless you're about to tell me you're a serial killer, I promise that won't happen." Placing a hand on Lucas's cheek, Jungwoo rubbed his thumb back and fourth gently before placing a small kiss on the younger's forehead, "I just want you to be okay."

Lucas leaned into his boyfriends touch, sending him a weak smile. "When my dad was still around he...he was abusive. It's just hard to go back home sometimes because every room reminds me of something different. And I'm scared that because I hit Dokyeom you're going to think I'm like him...that's why I didn't want to tell you."

After hearing the first sentence, Jungwoo was on the verge of tears. He knew something bad happened, but it just hurt to know someone had caused his boyfriend so much pain. "You were protecting me, Yukhei, that's different. I know that you would never deliberately hurt me."

"I—I took self defenses lessons after he left because there were so many times where I just couldn't stop him from hurting my mom o—or Chenle," Lucas said quietly, trying his hardest not to let himself cry. "I've blamed myself for so long because I couldn't protect them and I just freaked out when I saw what was happening with you and Dokyeom. You looked so terrified and...and It made me not want to tell you—but I should've...a long time ago."

Pulling the younger into his arms, Jungwoo knew nothing he could say would make any of this better. His boyfriend had been abused, what was he supposed to say to make him feel better? The feeling of Jungwoo's arms wrapped securely around him made Lucas finally break down, loud sobs muffled by the elder's shirt.

Jungwoo's heart broke even more at how aggressively Lucas was trembling in his arms. "You're okay, baby, I'm here." He truly had no idea how to calm the younger down as ironic as that was. He practically begged Lucas to tell him and here he was, clueless on how to comfort him.

After awhile of Jungwoo just holding him, the sobs died down and Lucas relaxed in his arms. "Can we stay like this please?" Lucas asked, pressing his face further into Jungwoo's shoulder.

"Sure." Jungwoo brought a hand up to gently cradle the back of his boyfriends head, his fingers running through his hair occasionally. "I love you," he whispered for what felt like the hundredth time that night. At this rate, he was sure Lucas was going to get tired of hearing that sometime soon.

"Jungwoo?"

"Yeah?"

"Please keep talking," he mumbled, finding so much comfort in the elder's soft voice.

✨✨✨

Lucas woke up to the the feeling of Jungwoo's fingers running through his hair softly, nails scratching his scalp pleasantly. Looking up at the elder, he saw Jungwoo scrolling through his phone with his free hand, completely oblivious that Lucas was now awake.

Everything felt a lot less stressful since he told Jungwoo about his dad. Apparently releasing months of built up emotions actually helped. His mind was just so peaceful; Jungwoo knew the worst part of him yet he was still there.

The state of the younger was revealed when he cuddled further into his boyfriends chest, letting out a content sigh as he did so. "Baby? Are you awake?"

Lucas propped his head up on Jungwoo's chest and sent the boy a frustrated pout. "Stop calling me baby, I call you baby," he mumbled, receiving a small laugh from the the boy.

"Why do you get to call me cute names but I don't?"

"But you stole mine! You can't just be a name thief...be original!" He whined.

Jungwoo simply shrugged in response, "You took all the good ones."

"Hey—don't you have class?" Lucas asked abruptly, reaching across Jungwoo for his phone so he could check the time.

The elder pulled the phone out of his hand before nodding, "Yes, but I still have a while."

A small smile spread across licsss face as he hoisted himself up so he was level with his boyfriend. He just looked at the boy for a few seconds before leaning forward and connecting their lips.

When Jungwoo noticed the shift from soft and loving to something more intense, he quickly put his hand on Lucas's chest and pushing himself away. "Hendery's still here."

"He's a heavy sleeper," he mumbled before leaning down to kiss the elder once again.

Placing his hand back on Lucas's chest, Jungwoo shook his head, "I'm sorry but we're not doing anything where we could potentially traumatize him."

"It's Hendery." Lucas deadpanned, "The amount of times I've walked in on him and Xiaojun is truly astounding."

"Yukhei, just because h—"

"Just shut up and fuck!" Hendery screamed as he threw a pillow at the couple.
