Sapnap's PoV
cws: cursingI was walking through the dark and noisy forest as I could hear the birds play their songs and the crickets chirping. Everything seemed so quiet yet it was anything but that. In the forest everything moves, even the stillest of planets have seemed to come alive. I sighed as my hands were wrenched together in my pocket. It was so fucking obnoxious having to walk on this foreign path that is lit only by the sinking sun in the horizon that is cut off by the over growing trees that hang down like vines. The path seemed to come to a fading stop. I looked around being able to pick out all the small sounds that could be coming from the largest creatures. I looked down and then back up looking the other way. That's when I saw it. It was a small almost shack looking run down house. It was made out of the jungle woods that ruled over the forest. From this far you could still easily see the holes from where the wood was knocked out. Vines that were resting on the top of the house were sinking down the sides of the house like an overflowing lake spilling from the sides. I hesitantly took a step forward, then another. I was walking towards the building not thinking about the possibility of someone or something living here. I only was going inside with the thought that maybe there was some valuable resources inside. Right before entering I stopped in my tracks, wide eyes staring at one of the holes in the side of the run down wooden house. There was a clunking noise inside as a light was turned on from the inside as it leaked from the cracks of the house. I could feel my stomach twist. I stepped a hesitant step backwards. Someone was in there. "no no no i know i know" I heard a young male whose voice was all too familiar. I could feel my legs tighten. There was no way....how in the HELL was Tommy able to survive in this shit whole of Corrupts and Demons that could shapeshift and be as small as a mouse yet tall as the hanging trees? My legs turned around as I started running back, almost tripping on the overgrown roots that rooted from the ground. I was panting after running for a good solid fifteen minutes before reaching the safe haven that was surrounded by a force field like dome. I ran through it as the shield created ripples going up to the top. I immediately spotted Dream's house slowing down my pace but by no means not running. I came up quickly on his doors as I knocked on the wooden door. I heard the footsteps of the rushed man who quickly opened the door asking "what's wrong?!" He almost sounded annoyed but I paid no mind to that. "dream..." i said having to take a moment and catch my breath "there...there is a house" i took a deep sigh in looking up at Dream standing up straight "There is a house, It's out in the woods biome but it runs down and is shaky looking. I-I thought that it was empty so i thought nothing of it but" I stopped to take my breath again "but-?" "Someone's there- no, not someone, it's Tommy," I said, interrupting Dream's repeated question. I looked at him as i could see behind that stupid mask of his the faint emotion of shocked as his body almost seemed to have bounced back "W-what?!" he asked, yelling almost "Wait Sapnap are you serious?" He asked, holding up a hand. I shook my head as I sighed. Dream seemed to be thinking. What of? I have no clue. As always he seems lost in thought. I yawned tired as night fell, the rush I had felt slowed down as I became myself once more. I put my hands in my pocket protecting them from the cold night air. "Sapnap" Dream said as I turned to look at him once more. "yo?" "get Tommy"
I sighed walking down the path again. Yep. That's how I got here again. I said to myself looking at the cottage that was still its old run down self. My hands were in my pockets as the wind brewed around us. Well this is going to be...i honestly don't know. Tommy, Jesus it's been a hot minute since I've seen or really heard of the kid since his exile. Safe to say this...It will be interesting.
I gently opened the door with a loud creak and the sound of 'someone' scrambling out of the way and into a hiding place. I could tell by the shoes, he, like most people here, had an extremely questionable shoe game and has probably worn the same pair his entire life. "Tommy? I know you're in here..." I grumbled seriously. I started to realize I was probably scaring the poor kid. So I decided to scare him more. "OooOoOo Tommy, I am a ghost of those longg forgottenn! Come out of the hiding place before I...Hm...Before I burn down your house-!!"
"Stop pretending to be someone I know,,You're jus- You're just a hallucination, I know better." Tommy groaned, I heard him distantly fumble around, to cover his ears I assumed.
"Ughmph, Tommy, I'm not a hallucination, have you slept at all?" I tried to stall while I slowly crept through the house trying to find him.
"...You're lying to me, bitch, I'm not- I can't- No, I haven't slept." Tommy grumbled hesitantly, I followed the sound of his voice gently gliding my right hand along the wall of the cabin, feeling the grain of the rotted wood against my fingers and preparing to fight a hoe if worse comes to worst.
"Tommy we have to leave, I know somewhere where you won't have to hide, and where you can be free." I located him in a simple closet off the side of the room. I pressed myself against the wall and grabbed the handle of my sword that was in a sheath on my bag. The strap that kept it there crossed over my torso that was also draped with lightweight chains, for fashion of course, but in hindsight they were loud and probably not a good idea in the current state of the world.
"Tommy?" I was growing concerned by the silence, and slowly reached my hand out to open the closet and see if he was, or still is there. The moment I twisted the door knob, Tommy shoved the door open with his shoulder and scrambled out. In the beginning he lost his balance and had to attempt to almost throw himself back up with one arm, I imagine he had no time to think about that one. He tried to break through the window, but just fell to the cabin floor with a wince. I was just watching this all go down, sword in hand.
"I've heard the whole 'OoOoHH TOMMY YOU'LL BE FREE IF YOU JUST JOIN MY COUNTRY' schtick about a billion times, Sapnap, I am not falling for it again! I don't want to be manipulated, used, and thrown out like a sheet of paper! I'm not doing this! You don't care about me, you're only doing this because some rando higher up wanted you to!" Tommy snapped in a fit of rage, his eyes darted around the room, as if trying to find and escape.
I brought my sword more towards the ground, only holding it with one hand at this point. I took my freehand and pinched the bridge of my nose with a deep and dramatic sigh. "Tommy, no offense, but shut the everliving fuck up. You know nothing of the current situation. It isn't a country, it's a temporary 'commune', after this is all said and done, you can go back to living your life. But remember when we all sent Dream to that prison? That should be a clear reminder there is strength in numbers, and what we need through all of this right now is strength."
I brought my other arm back down, before Tommy lunged towards me and tried to hijack my sword with every bone in his body. It wasn't very hard to over power him in that sense, it was painfully obvious he was running on empty. There was no food or water to be found here, and obviously he hasn't had the best luck with beauty sleep.
I wounded back my freehand before punching Tommy in the face so hard I about lost balance. I pulled my sword up as a defense, expecting something back, before I heard a loud thud and looked down. He was completely passed out? Because of that? Damn I'm strong.
After taking a moment for vanity, I put my sword back in the sheath, reached down and threw Tommy's corpse over my shoulder. I felt almost bad for him, he was very clearly exhausted and borderline deranged, he must've been here for quite a long time by himself. There was a bag by the door that had its zipper unzipped with what seemed to be most if not all of Tommy's possessions. Including a long broken and rusted compass, there was a hole in the glass where two cracks interlocked and the inner navigator had seemingly fell through it.
I do have some respect for Tommy, so I grabbed the bag with my freehand and pushed myself through the door. I looked down at my shoes and the rotted wood of the porch. There was kudzu that was creeping up the side of the cabin, I noted as I walked off of the porch into the mud and leaves on the forest floor, this thing was gonna get devoured or fall apart very soon.
I followed the path back to base. I was so caught up in it all earlier I didn't have time to actually look around, Techno told me specifically to always keep in mind important landmarks so we don't lose important places. But of course I didn't do that, I'm surprised I even found my way back here.
Speaking of Techno, I wonder what all the guys are doing back at base... Probably waiting for me, I'm kind of the life of the party. I smirked pridefully before I suddenly felt the ground shake beneath me, the expression fell very abruptly and I looked behind me. There seemed to be something creeping in the darkness. I could hardly see, but the majority of its body was a deep grey with places that naturally darkened on its back from the blistering sun. The most notable characteristic of it, what made me remember what Karl said when he went on a rant about what to do when in this situation, was its muted red face... Oh and the teeth that ran across its entire body.
I slowly crouched to the ground, I would fight it, but my hands are full. I'm definitely not scared because it's four times my size, definitely not. I crept back into the kudzu, as I saw it steadily approaching. It had 10 eyes that could look in every direction without you knowing, as they lacked pupils.
I felt my heart race and my hands begin to shake.
It was right in front of me.
It's horns were catching the sunlight making them an almost gold color. It slowly opened its jaw with a snarl I quickly looked away and thought of my options before I heard a loud whistle. I saw a tall and familiar person, I couldn't define who it was before I saw the wings. "Philza?!" I said, forgetting the life threatening situation I was in.
He looked at me with a smile before he swiftly took the sky to fight this beast by himself. What a cool old man, on God. I am gonna come back here and steal that skull when it's been sun bleached, that shit cool as hell.
I saw a safe exit out of the corner of my eye and took it while I could, dragging Tommy's bag on the ground and trying to keep actual Tommy from falling and probably dying.
Now, back to base. This is gonna be fun...Tommy's PoV
cw: manipulation & cursing obvMy eyes slowly opened though they felt like stones barely able to keep them from falling. I was sitting in a chair as the cold wind blew against my pale skin. My head hurt really badly as my body shook under the cold. I held my arms together looking at the dummy lit fire in front of me. There were a few more chairs that surrounded the fireplace. I looked up as my arms rubbed against one another. I sniffed as my nose got more red. I could see the figure of Sapnap but my vision was still blurry. I closed them tightly together and rubbed my eyes harshly. I opened them back up looking back up at Sapnap, this time more clearly, and sighed. I looked down at the ground as my body was curled up in the chair, knees to my chest and my hands neatly tucked in the small gap between the two. "Finally awake it looks" I heard Sapnap say with the faintest chuckle in his voice. I grumbled under my breath not looking up at him. "Not talking? Even after I saved your ass by carrying you out of that shit you were living in?" His voice dominated the quiet winds. I could feel my body slightly shake as I only peeked up at him with a hesitant look. I sighed as my breath was visible in the cold. "T-thanks...yeah thanks" I said quietly under my breath. "Yeah!" he chuckled continuing "You better be! I saved you and then you wanted to be all silent and shit I mean come on man-!" "Sapnap."
I heard an all to familiar voice say behind me. I quickly snapped around as my hand kept my weight up as the other one lay, still resting in my lap. Dream's tall figure stood over the chair that I sat in. Even behind that bitch mask I could see the frown the older was carrying. I looked at Sapnap who frowned going back into his chair and looked down at the fire as the ashes rose into the dimly lit sky. Dream placed a hand on the edge of my chair. A loud sigh was heard from the taller male as I looked back around at him. "uh-...well um..." I looked to the side as sweat dripped down my face. Not only was this awkward but this is Dream for crying out loud the man can be scary even without trying. "Tommy" he said sternly as I could feel his grip on the chair tighten. Even though I couldn't see his eyes it felt as if his emerald eyes were staring straight through me. I sunk into my chair somehow further than I was already. "I need to talk to you, follow me." He started walking without looking back to see if I was following or not. Of course I was though, hesitantly but...following. We came upon a decently large house that could fit a good five or six rooms. I gulped 'why is he bringing me here?' I thought to myself. Dream, for the first time on our walk, looked back at me. I slightly jumped back on my heels. My eyes shakingly trying to find some sort of clue to find out what his intent was. "This is where you will be staying" He said, interrupting my thought. I met the small black dots that posed as his eyes on the mask. "w-wait what?"
"Me and the rest of the Dream Team live here...there is an extra room that you could stay at. Of course I would say that it's your choice to stay or not...but it's not" He rested his arm over my shoulder "I don't care if you like it or not, no one else would probably take you in anyways without you asking and even then...Right now no one here even knows that you're alive let alone here so...y'a really got no other choice Tommy" He said, I could tell his eyes, his real eyes, were staring right at mine. I gulped "Y-yeah" I said hastily putting my hands up. "Good" He continued to walk as his arm still lay rested on my shoulder. "Tonight you will get some rest, tomorrow we will let them know you're here. It's not like they want you here..." i looked down and kicked at the ground "yeah-"
"But! That just means they will have to get over it...Now come on let's get set up" We walked into the building. I felt as though Dream held a grimacing smile on his face. He didn't seem right even though I couldn't see his actual face. It felt like it was there. I sighed ignoring it as we walked in the doors.—————
