Okay this is one of my first few attempts at writing so give me some help here.I need votes and comments if you please........
August 1790
Estate of James Connor.
"I want to die"She pleaded with him and looked beseechingly into his eyes. His heart raced at the implication of her statement and he avoided as the thoughts raced his mind and he envisioned for a moment.Lo,twas just a moment.No-one should make him guilty for having such thoughts. He could see her corpse lying there on the bed and he wanted nothing more than to honour her wishes but it all came at a cost which was dire.It was a crime and truly the king would have his head. No,no,no and no.........Life can only be taken away by God himself.I am not worthy of such an action. It would be like he was taking a role that was not his.
He paced around the room nervously and tuned her out as she was deafening his ears. His steps were quick and he bit his nails to the quick in a manner that was considered ungentlemanly.Oh how his wife would chastise him.He chuckled to himself about the circumstances. Here he was with his wife on her death bed and he was finding humour in it.He ran a tired hand through his hair and decided to go outside and smoke while he thought about what to do.His face contorted at the thought of living without his wife but still death was inevitable and was a normal occurence.
He ran to the corner and rang the bell.A servant scurried in.Like a mouse if you please. What was it with him and the wisecracks? He remembered his wife's derisive tone as she would always mock him at the way he uttered his thoughts without thinking. It was a personal joke between them and he always had a certain expression that would always appear on his face which forewarned her and she nudged him before he spoke aloud. They had certainly avoided embarassing situations.Thank God for his beloved Louise.
The timid girl curtsied him and he nodded at her.He barked afew orders at her and told her to disregard his wife when she states that she wants to die.As much as he wanted to remove her from her misery it was very important that she be kept alive as she had committed atrocities that she had to answer to.He still loved her as much as he loathed her.How ironic! He took in a deep breath and inhaled in the cool air and pondered his next movement.Killing her would be justice and all those live that she had ruined would be appeased. Most wanted to torch her and stone her.It was much effort and he could not stand the pity that most of his peers gave him.
It took awhile to light the cigar and he took a long awaited smoke.Sometimes he wondered if his wife was possessed and if maybe the church could help.Cowards was what he thought of all them. They call themselves the "chosen ones" yet they were the first ones to throw stones at her.Metaphorically speaking of course. He wondered whether he should call one of her many friends but they had all beat a hasty retreat when she started having her many turns.Only a couple of them had remained but he was sure that they were all there for the benefit of gossip.
Good thing that his servants were all sworn to keep all the secrets in the household. He gritted his teeth and let out a low snarl in his frustration. He was not a weak man and he stood by his vows knowing that she would have done the same for him.Lord he missed her and he ached for her but not the way she was at the moment but when she was fine.An upstanding lady of society and envied by all.He wondered what had driven her to her madness and why he had not noticed the signs earlier on.He had been a negligent husband, that he would admit,to his wife.He had been concerned with recuperating his losses and forgot everything. No,not everything but his beautiful twins. He missed them all.
The two were the apples of his eyes. His eyes lit up at the thought of both of them.He would have to go and see them when he had sorted out the matters of the household. He didn't trust anyone at all.Trust to him was meant to be mutual. He carried his burdens alone and they weighed heavily upon his own already encumbered load.He would not give up but he would keep pushing on knowing that his wife would soon be back but she was hibernating.Maybe she would recover if she saw the children.Unfortunately that could not happen as she was considered a danger to herself and unto others. Her sanity would probably go overboard than it was now.
A wailing sound startled him out of his reverie. It was his wife crying out for him.He sighed and went in expecting the same scenario played over and over again. He had resigned himself to his lot in life.Maybe he should send her to the lunatic house where there were many like her.He frowned and crossed himself for the evil thoughts. What happened next was something that he did not expect. His wife had held the servant in a choking stronghold and the poor girl was holding on for dear life.
He yelled and called for help in holding down his wife. She was deranged and he swore that he could see the devil himself in her.He crossed himself and made a mental note that he would go to church and call upon the lord's help.Maybe he would be forgiven of his sins and the Lord would remove his wrath from the family. This he firmly hoped. The rest of the household trooped in and watched the scene in all varying manners of horror. All it took was a young servant who picked up her skirts and raced out the door presumably to fetch the doctor.
The doctor came in and sedated her.He also tended to the servant girl who was trying to gain her breathe after the terrifying ordeal. Before Louise fell asleep she uttered words that shook him to his deepest core and he spat out the cigar.............
Don't forget to show me some love.Thanksssss.Five votes even.
Alright I need opinions before I can progress.Thank you all
