chapter 05: old "friends"
"yahhh!! eomma, minyoung answered~" seojun said, handing the phone over to his mother who sat next to him. minyoung smiled, shutting down her computer. her mom smiled at her, "mina, we've all missed you! seojun here is so lonely that he beat up more kids!" she told with a sour face.
the girl laughed, "yah seojun! stop beating up kids, what'd they do to you?"
he look away, "tch". minyoung and seojun had a really good relationship before seyeon's death, but after everything, she refuses to tell him anything about that night, fearing that she'd turn out like suho. she saw how seojun crushed suho to pieces. her twin brother was too important.
they aren't as close as they used to, but still do the occasional teasing. "you must be at work, are we bothering you?" her mom questioned, which minyoung shook her head. "no, it's fine, my shift ends soon anyways. how's gowoon?" minyoung asked while cleaning up her desk. "she's doing fine, i'm pretty sure she's still practicing at school for her next recital, she got the main part again!" her mom exclaimed in a cheerful voice.
the girl cracked a smile, "awhh im so proud of my baby sister," she expressed, "well today was my first day of school, nothing eventful happened but i did meet some friends,"
"damn i thought you were gonna be a loner and sulk all the time," seojun complained, earning a smack from their mom. "yah, eomma!" he whined, rubbing his head and minyoung laughed at their antics.
"i'm not a loner," minyoung told, "at least i don't have a lame gang. have some pride bro"
their mom rolled her eyes, "you both are lame!"
she looked at her watch and saw the time. "i have to go meet with some co-workers! seojun, take care of mom. i'll send you money for necessities anytime, not stupid shit, ok? ma, love you! i'll call you guys again tomorrow!" minyoung said, giving them a blow kiss and hanging up.

a week of uneventful school passed by before one day during lunch, ayumi asks, "guys, let's go to the mall after class!"
minyoung took a bite of her onigiri and said, "i'm in. i needed new clothes anyways. how bout you, akari?". they turned to akari and she replied, "i'm in, i wanna skip practice today, i'm tired,"
"you shouldn't skip practices often, akari!" ayumi told her friend with a whiny tone, "you're gonna get really bad at basketball and you won't be able to beat those cocky guys!"
akari chuckled, "maybe you're right. i'll think about that,"
