Remnant was a planet in a somewhat state of peace, until HE arrived. a unique soldier from the planet earth appeared in the woods, followed by a horde of machines. All coming for HIM.
we always thought the aliens would come from the sky, we were wrong.
they came from us, a genetically modified worm cluster that could take over any machine with ease. when it broke free it found a host, a new robot prototype that couldn't be countered by anything else man made. it couldn't be stopped.

it killed every human, including the scientists. we retreated and it stayed. two years later, a factory was hit. every human dead, just like last time. the next time it hit, it hit a city. one and half years after the factory, an army of new robots attacked with it, flattening Portland (in Maine).

they got a name, we called them the harvesters. the troops attack, while the leader seized control over any source of metal, electricity, and tools. there were building an army, so we started our own. we built suits of Armour that could flatten a semi truck with one punch, and Mechs that could provide heavy cover fire and defense.

then they evolved, and changed their targets, US. they stopped harvesting, and started destroying.
the scarab is a walking bomb. it moves fast and exploded when surrounded. armed with a machine gun, the bug would shoot a path into the middle of our troops, before exploding into a ball of fire.

the stalker is a walking anti aircraft turret. armed with an anti-aircraft cannon and a rocket pod, the machine made it nearly impossible to bring aircraft into the fight and stepped on its foes. when all aircraft was destroyed, it would aim its cannons farther down, and fire upon ground troops.

the wallgunner is what its name states. it is a robot with guns on the underside of its arms and can put its head and arms on the ground, creating a shield. armed with duel machine guns, it would shoot at troops, and then protects itself from returning fire while cooling off its guns.

the captain leads a group of footmen and has stronger Armour. armed with either a sword or LMG, this tank would be very violent against its enemies.

after we started winning some fights, we learned something. each attack had a leader that sat in the back and eliminated anything left behind. the leaders were swift and ruthless, and never killed. whenever we won, the leader would retreat and regroup with more troops.
another thing we discovered was that the original harvester never attacked. it stayed in the dark lands that they had claimed. when we finally started winning some fights, the harvesters had claimed the entirety of north america.
