I just read the book and I must say I quite liked it. It wasn't really the best, but I loved the story line. At one part I even started crying (and I don't cry when reading books).
In my opinion the beginning was amazing. Typical, invisible nerd Winnie Indigo and the school bad boy Brody Casen, who also happens to be her neighbor, fall in love by the end. Really loved all their meetings at the begging, the teasing,… Personally the rest of story didn't attract me that much, it had some strong, well-written moments, but I felt like something is missing, some depth was missing for me. And when I’m talking about that well written moments: THEY REALLY WERE GREAT. They made the story so popular if you ask me. But, the characters weren't all written in detail, just a surface without the inner story (except two of the main characters, but even then I missed something) and maybe they should be a bit more. Furthermore, the story had some holes, for example (I remember this moment the most) it was said that there was no Ferris wheel and at the end of the chapter they were riding on one? Besides, everything was happening so fast! I mean she practically went from invisible to the Queen of the school. Also, she was dating one guy and few days after she told other guy that she loves him and slept with him (before she was a virgin!). I know that the feelings were building up from the beginning but still. It just doesn't happen like this, especially not if you cared about somebody. She was portrayed in bright light but at that moment she didn't really seem like a good person, she was the same as her fake friends. Though, I must say I really liked that they never went back to being friends, because I mean in reality it wouldn't happen either.
Well, I must admit that I really liked the end and overall the story was pretty good. And I only see now, that most of the things I said about the story aren't so positive. Well, if you read carefully you will see why I liked it.
