(Harry's POV)

It was past curfew, and was about 1 in the morning when I thought heard some faint rustling in the common room.

I was already awake because I couldn't sleep, so I decided to go check it out. I pulled out my wand, and made my way out of the dorms.

"Lumos." I whispered, making the tip of my wand glow.

I quietly made my way down the spiral staircase.

"Hello?" I whispered.

"Harry?" A familiar voice whispered back.

"Y/n? What are you doing up so late?"

The room was dark, except for the hot coals in the fireplace, dimly illuminating her figure.

"Couldn't sleep. You?"

"Couldn't sleep... Are you going somewhere?" I asked, now noticing the bag she had in her hand.

"Oh, yeah. I was gonna go to the astronomy tower. You can come with, if you'd like."

"Sure. Just let me get shoes and a sweater."

(Y/ns POV)

I sat in the common room, waiting for Harry to come back. I do this a lot. Usually alone, but I guess some company wouldn't hurt.

Harry came down, and we left. We walked in silence, until he spoke up about halfway there.

"What's in the bag?" He questioned.

"My journal, my quill, and ink."

"Journal? For what?"

"Journaling." I said with a laugh.

"Oh. What do you write about?"

I thought for a second, looking for what to say next. "I pretty much just write about my struggles with school and friends, I guess."

"Am I in that book?"

"Probably somewhere." I chuckled.

He was. And I knew exactly where and why. The truth is, is that I think that I like him. Like- like like him. I'm not sure though. Theres a lot of mixed emotions with Harry. Its conflicting because I love him like a bestfriend, and then there a part of me that wants to be a little more than friends... I'm probably just overthinking it.

We walked in silence the rest of the way, and climbed the stairs to the astronomy tower.

I let out an airy sigh as we were hit with the chilly spring air at the top of the tower.

I dropped my bag from my shoulder onto the floor, and walked over to the railing and leaned myself against it so I could look over the school grounds.

I heard Harry follow me over, and stand the same way next to me

We were silent for about two minutes. Not an awkward or tense silence though. A comforting one.

"Hey, Harry?" I asked, softly.

"Mhm?"

"The third task is in a few days, and I'm worried for you. Something seems... off about this tournament. I mean, someone put your name into the goblet, but for what? People dont just do that for kicks and giggles. Something bigger is going on, I can feel it."

He took my hand in his, and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles.

I looked at him. I'm falling so hard for this boy.

I think I always was, I've just been too stubborn to admit it.

"I'll be ok." He said, still looking out over the school.

"I hope you're right."

this chapter doesnt really have a purpose other than to point out that y/n likes him and I wanted a chapter in between the 2nd and 3rd task, so that's why it's so short. this is cheesy, I hate it.
