Background of Summer

Family – parents are divorced, doesnt speak to them anymore. Had a sister who died at the age of 12 after being murdered – the murderer is unknown. Summer wants to find who killed her sister after 13 years of not knowing and trying to figure out.

Used to be Christian but fell out of faith after the passing of her sister.

Now a Chicago police detective in district 21- intelligence unit, only recently transferred there. Started police academy after the police couldnt find who killed her sister.

She was kidnapped with her sister when she was 15 and her sister was 12 – tortured – they escaped but another man came up behind them a took her sister – didnt see where they went as it was dark. – ran home – called the police after her mam found out what happened. They had been missing for 6 months. The police soon found her sisters body in an arsonist attack set for her. Signs of many injuries.

A new case has just formed, and the three victims so far have similar patterns to how her sister died.

Her best thing in her life right now is her job as she feels helping others takes a bit of the pain away as she blames herself for not finding her sister sooner.

She lives alone so if her house were on fire most likely her case files on her sisters murder – might have panic attack as it could bring back nightmares of her sister.

She would probably call Sergeant Trudy Platt – front desk at district – amazing police.

She would be the person who manipulates people – mainly when she interrogates criminals for her job.

She finds it very easy to speak up for herself and get what she wants but she struggles when its in front of her Sergeant Hank Voight – head of intelligence as he doesnt like her as she was transferred there it was not run by him before hand and she was sort of pushed onto his team without his authorisation and he just had to go with it – doesnt trust her – not many people do.

Rich and ill as years go by with her sisters killer still out there, she struggles to look at the positive side of things so if she had money, she would leave it for Chicago P.D but go out of this world to be with her sister.

From her kidnapping she has traitor engraved on her forearm along with many scars on her arms and ankles from being tied up in a basement for 6 months a beaten. She got revenge on the man who kidnapped her by torturing him and killing him – got away with it – this was before she joined the academy. No one in the district knows about her past until this new case shows up. Not knowing if shell be able to handle it or keep herself back when they catch the killer.
