Chapter 3: Attack, Refugees and Friends

     Bertholdt held the knife in his hand. He looked at the other two boys as they were on Annie's shoulder. He then ran and jumped off the side and a bright yellow lightning bolt appeared. (Y/N) shielded his eyes and watched the colossal titan materialize. Annie backed away so the massive creature could kick the wall. (Y/N) watched in awe as the colossal titans massive leg moved back slowly growing distance for a kick. Before the impact Annie screamed for pure titans to come. The massive titans foot made contact with the wall creating dust, smoke and pebbles to almost cover the titans foot.

      Then he heard it, screams. His heart skipped a beat and his mood switched from awe to terror. It took him a few seconds to manually breath, he was in shock. They weren't like the scream in war, he was used to those. These were screams he had never heard before, screams of the innocent. He had been told all his life that the people of Paradis were devils, not humans. He listened to the screams and his eyes widened. Reiner put a hand on the boy's shoulder.

     "We keep going, we're warriors,"

     The boy looked to the colossal titan as it fell down, he saw Bertholdt rise out of the nape. Reiner then ran off Annie's shoulder and lightning hit him.The armored titan put out a hand for (Y/N) to get on. He climbed off Annie's shoulder and Annie got out of her titan. She quickly jumped into the armored titans hand and held onto (Y/N) for stability. She was tired from her long shift, (Y/N) watched as Reiner picked up Bertholdt from his titan. The pure titans that Annie had called in were coming.

      Moments later Reiner set the three on the top of a house. (Y/N) looked at the other two and noticed they were basically sleeping.

     "Damn," (Y/N) breathed out. He thought of what to do but only came to one option. He reached into Annie's pocket and grabbed a knife.

     The warhammer titan picked up Annie and Bertholdt. He looked left and right and to the right he saw a manmade river. He slowly maneuvered around the building and saw a group of civilians running from a titan. The titan didn't seem to care about the warhammer and continued to walk towards the group. It knelt down and grabbed a kid with blond hair. The warhammer titan quickly used his hand and crushed the pure titans nape. He then quickly grabbed the kid and set him on the street below. The boy looked up to him with confusion and wonder.

     "Are you on our side? Can you understand us?,"

     (Y/N) thought it was best to not talk to him. He stood up straight and looked down at the boy one last time. He had blue eyes. (Y/N) continued to the manmade river and heard a loud boom. He assumed it was Reiner and continued to walk.

     (Y/N) eventually came out of the nape and continued on foot, they were only a few steps away when a man appeared in front of them. He had a weird device on his hips. Two boxes on either side and what looked like gas canisters on top of the boxes. He held swords which had a cable running from each handle. The cable connected to the canisters. (Y/N) assumed he was a soldier. He had a jacket with a rose emblem on.

     "Come with me kid, are they okay?"

     "They're fine,"

      The soldier ran and (Y/N) ran with Bertholdt and Annie half awake. (Y/N) saw a ten meter titan round the corner. He watched as the soldier shot out a wire and it anchored on to the side of a building. He then pulled another trigger on the handle and the canisters let out gas and propelled him up. He then hooked the other anchor on the titan, then released the other one and went after the titans nape. He took both the swords and delivered a killing blow to the titan's nape. He then landed on the ground and motioned for (Y/N) to follow.

     They know we're in the nape.

     Trost District: Temporary refugee camp

     (Y/N) leaned on a wall in the small courtyard. This is where all the refugees were put after the fall of Wall maria and Shiganshina. (Y/N) looked down to see Annie still out of it and Bertholdt waking up all the way.

     "Stay here, I'll see if I can get us some food," He told Reiner.

     He pushed himself off the wall and walked to a desk in the middle of the courtyard. He saw three people there, they had the same equipment the man from earlier had. On the jackets they had a green unicorn. The one sitting down handed a ration to the first pair of people.

     "Next," He said in a monotone voice.

     (Y/N) walked up and asked for two rations for the four of them. The soldier handed it to him and (Y/N) started to walk back to the other warriors. As he was walking back he bumped into another boy. He had messy brown hair and blueish green eyes. He was wearing a brown overcoat and had an olive green shirt. (Y/N) looked down at him and the boy got angry at him.

     "Watch where you're going idiot," The boy yelled.

     "You pushed into me,"

     "Eren," A girl said, walking up to the boy named Eren. She looked at (Y/N). Like Pieck. She had grey eyes and long black hair. She wore a white shirt with a light pink jacket, she also had a red scarf wrapped around her neck. Another boy walked up to Eren and held him back. (Y/N) stared at him for a bit and then realized it was the boy he saved from the titan earlier. His blond hair, blue eyes and frail looking body were a big hint that it was the same boy.

     "Sorry about Eren, he's angry a lot," The blond boy said.

     "Don't be, it's my fault I ran into him," (Y/N) said.

     "Im Armin, Armin Arlert," The boy said, putting out a hand for a handshake. (Y/N) put out hand and shook Armin's back, he didn't give a good grip which gave even more evidence to his frailness.

     "Im (Y/N) Tybur," He said, he figured he didn't have to go with a fake name, there's no possible way they know of the Tybur's.

     "This is Eren and Mikasa," Armin said. Eren looked at (Y/N) for a second.

     "I'm sorry for lashing out on you," Eren said, much to his own dismay. It looked like Mikasa put him up to it.

     "Where are you from in wall Maria? I've never seen you in Shiganshina," Armin asked.

     (Y/N) thought quickly and tried to figure something out. He stared away for a second.

     "Don't ask him something like that," Mikasa said.

     "Sorry I-" Armin said but (Y/N) quickly interjected.

     "It was a small village, three of my friends came from there too, when the elders heard wall Maria had fallen, we abandoned it," (Y/N) explained, he made himself sound sad to push his story. Mikasa and Armin gave a saddened look and Eren looked away. "Anyway, I'm gonna go back to my friends,"

      (Y/N) then walked away and repeated their names in his head to remember them better. He assumed they were all from Shiganshina, it only added more guilt to his situation.
