Alrighty, so this is my first wattpad book, but the second book I've written. Last year I won a novel writing contest at my school with a close friend of mine. I'm kind if new to this. All kinds of feedback will be nice! I'm here to get better! Thanks Loves! ❤
Oh, and this story is semi based on a real life experience I've had... But not really that much, oh lord no. The prologue is the only part that actually occurred.. Like 3 years ago.. And still it was different... Yah, sooo let's get this shindig staaaaartedd!!
~~~~~~~
Prologue
"Brooklyn get up!" I rolled over in the heap of blankets that were covering my body keeping me warm from the mid October chill. "Brooklyn I said get up! It's important, really important Emma just texted me!" Leah screamed pushing the blankets around on the bed where I was sleeping.
"For the love of Christ what!? What could be so important that you had to wake me up at," I looked blearily over to the clock on the wall, "7:30! 7:30 in the morning on a Saturday." I half yelled poking my head out from under the blankets. I was not a morning person. Never, not even on Christmas.
I rolled out of bed almost falling flat on my face in the process. I fixed my Shamrock Marathon shirt that was falling off my shoulder and tugged my shorts down. Shooting Leah a dirty look I grabbed the phone from her hands and looked down at the message that was interrupting my much deserved sleep.
"Leah!! Okay, so I don't know what happened and I don't know if I want to know but there's a note... IN THE LAKE BY YOUR HOUSE GET UP AND GET DOWN THERE WE'LL BE THERE IN FIVE! 😁"
"I don't know what you want me to do with this," I said looking at the phone. "It's like 7:30 why is she down there anyway. And who is we?"
"Huh? What do you mean who is we?" Leah asked.
"It says 'we'll be there in five' and its only 7:30 and its October... Why is she down there this early?"
"She's with her sister and brother they all went surfing earlier this morning the surf was really good they couldn't pass it up. I'm sorta pissed we didn't get to go this morning too." She looked at the clock. 7:38. "Hmm, maybe we can go a but later"
"Can't we just sleep," I groaned. "Please. We wake up at 5:00 every morning for school anyway and after this year we're done. We're off to college. Let me just cherish this." I laid my head down on my pillow.
"They're gonna be here any second, shit they're probably already here! Get up!" Leah hopped onto my back causing me to grunt.
"Fine, dammit Leah I'm getting up and don't do that anymore please. Ugh, damn that hurt." She rolled off me with a wide smile on her face and walked out of her room.
I stood up tall, well as tall I I could being only 5'3". I slipped a hair tied off my wrist and threw my long brown hair into a messy bun. Picked up my glasses, slipped on my flip flops, and headed down stairs. When I got down there Leah had already gone outside. Her jacket was off the hook. I grabbed mine and walked out the door.
There they were, standing there waiting for me. It looked more like an intervention than meeting. I walked down the driveway pulling my jacket tighter around me it was chilly, must be the wind. I looked down at the goosebumps raising on my olive skin. When I got to them Emma hugged me followed by her sister Riley. Then her brother, John who,although a year below us was still 6'3" and strong as hell. He pick me up in a huge hug spinning me around til I laughed. He put me down kissing me on the cheek and smiled down at me. "Hey, you." He said grinning from ear to ear. This kid was something else.
"Hello, John." I said smiling right back at him. I could hear Leah giggling next to us.
"Okay so we're not gonna sugar coat this, Brooke," he said his playfulness suddenly gone. I hated it when he was like this. "The note we found it was about you." he said sheepishly. I looked around at everyone gauging their expressions. Leah wasn't surprised, I'm guessing they already told her. "It's not as bad as it could be it's just weird you know. And we thought we should tell you."
"Mmkay? Well what is it what did the note say?" I inquired. Riley handed me a note rolled up like it'd been put in a bottle. The words were typed and there were only two sentences.
Well, Brooklyn the bitch. Watch yourself our you'll end up like that.
Like what? I asked inwardly and then aloud.
"Come with us, we'll show you." Riley voiced grabbing my arm. I looked at John pleading with y eyes for an answer but he merely looked back with that sad little expression still prominent. "Danny's on his way" she said quietly to me. Oh Danny, my best friend we'd been through so much both apart and together I was happy he was coming. We'd handled worse.
After the five minute walk we arrived at the lake. At first I didn't see it, but then there it was I can't believe I missed it in the first place..
