Lacey shut her door and went over to her bed. Instant rage surged through her. Pillows were thrown around her room. Dresses flung on the bed. After 20 minutes of throwing things she calmed down. She fell on her bed and cried herself asleep. Seeing as dinner was 7 Maria came and got her at 6 to tell her to get ready. She kocked on the door softly and when no answer came she came in the find Lacey's room a mess and the girl's air stuck to her face. She was still asleep tired from being so upset. Maria sat down and gently smoothed her hair. It had always woekn her up as a child and worked now. Lacey groaned gently and woke up. "Oh Maria!" Lacey said when she saw her nanny. She buried her face into Maria's lap and cried telling her the days events. Maria tried very hard not to yell at Mrs.Broadwin when she passed her after leaving Lacey to dress for dinner. Will was not allowed to attend the meals any more he took them with Maria while his Father ate with the Broawin's. Lacey threw on a pink 50s inspired dress that had a large red rose on the shoulder. She found some silver heels to put on and threw her hair in a bun. She looked a bit upset still but she didn't care. She walked to dinner and sat down without a word to her Mother or Chester. Papa was still gone and wouldn't be home till very late. Lacey picked at her food and didn't eat a thing. She wanted to go back to the folder or the library to find out more about Emma. She heard Chester clear his throat and sighed. What was the jerk going to say now? "Lacey how are you feeling darling?" Lacey's anger rose higher then any level of anger she had ever had. "Chester you have NO right to call me darling!" She fought to calm down. Her Mother looked right at her. "Lacey Broadwin go to your room!" Lacey threw her napkin down and started to leave. "Oh and Lacey if you don't follow the rules you might find yourself somewhere you don't want to be." Lacey just ran out tearing off her heels to run faster. She didn't go to her room though she went to Will's she wasn't staying in this house tonight she had to leave. "Lace if you leave they might do something to you!" She was now pacing Will's room which was smaller then hers. She knew he was right. It was scarey how right he was. She knew her Mother would send the gaurds out and when she did anything could happen. "Lace why don't you sleep in one of the guests rooms your Mother will never look there and then tomorrow morning we can do some research." She nodded snuck off to get a nightgown and then off to the guest room in the far back of the house. She fell asleep after a long while. When she woke up the sun was just rising and she was very grateful she brought another dress with her. It was just a simple plain lilac sundress with a pair of flip flops which her Mother HATED. She snuck off to Will' room and he came out and followed her to her Father's library. She went over the the family shelf as her Papa called it. It had a book about every family member but her parents and her. You got the book made when you died. She went over to the start of the shelf. She skimmed over names until she saw Emma. She pulled it out shaking with excitment. Then they heard footsteps. They hid behind two large reading chairs. "I have the school set up all we need to do is send her off." Said a man Lacey couldn't identify. "Good! Tomorrow I will convince her Mother to send her. With her out of the way we can find the locket faster." Lacey put a hand over her mouth to keep from gasping. That had been Chester speaking! What was he going to do? "OH pas ! Ce que je vais faire ?" Lacey exclaimed when they left as she paced the library a frantic look on her face. "What in the world did you just say?" Will asked looking at her. "I said Oh no what will I do!" "Take the book and run?" Will said. She nodded and the two of them ran off to the house in the orchard. It was beaten down and very old but for being shut up all this time it wasn't bad. She set the book down on a dusty old table and opened it. She started to read. "Emma May Broadwin was born on September 12th 1842 in London Englnd. She lived there till the age of 9 and then moved to America with her family. Her Father died after being shot outside his home is 1856. Her Mother died in 1857 a month after child birth from what may have been a murder. Emma had three siblings. Faye,Joy,and Matthew Broadwin." Lacey stopped. That was it. There was no more all the other pages were blank. "Will that is it! The rest is blank they never finished her book." Which was very odd because every other book was full. "There has to be more Lace that can't be it. I mean this was a person how can her life be that little and what about her siblings? Whe never saw a Faye or Joy or even a Matthew up there." "Your right. I wonder why not I mean they were Broadwin's weren't they? Since Matthew was the only male Broadwin left we would have to have descendants of him. So he should have a book." Will turned from the bookshelf. "Unless someone took it off." She looked at him shocked. "Why would Papa allow that I mean he didn't even let ME in his library unless it was a special occasion!" Lacey looked at the clock on her Papa's desk. Only 9 o'clock and the day already had tons of unanswered questions! The breakfast bell rang and the two said goodbye as they went their own ways. Lacey went to the dining room and sat down in her usual chair thankful her Papa was present. Chester came in with his parents and her Mother following close by. He threw Lacey a chilling look. She was glad that she always sat by Papa it made her feel a bit better right now. She was eating when Chester started talking. "You know sir there is a new school that just opened down the road? It is quite a school I have heard only the best are accepted much better then Miss Lacey's current school." "Oh is it now? Well that is very nice to hear." Her Papa said now engaged in the conversation. "Yes it would be a wise choice to send her don't you think?" Her Papa nodded looking at her now. "Dear do you want to go?" Strange she had never heard of this school she knew most of the new buildings coming as her Papa usually designed them. "Not really Papa I mean I hate school as it is but I am nearly done and I think that transfering me would be a wrong choice since I am already the top of my class." He nodded smiling. "Then it's settled you don't need to go." Chester grew 5 shades of red. "Sir! It's the FINEST school she must go!" Her Papa's eyes grew slightly angry. "No young man she doesn't NEED to go I want my girl happy and she says she won't be happy there so she won't go. Matter settled." Chester threw his napkin on the table and left along with the strange man who had come out of no where. Her Mama looked tired and worn out. She didn't look right and even though Lacey was mad at her she was going to check on her after breakfast.
