The Dream

That night, I woke up with a strange feeling. My head was throbbing and my vision was that of a baby. Terrified, I got up from my bed and walked away from my room. When I did, I was greeted by clouds and the night sky. I was confused until I heard a voice

"He's here"

I bolted around to see, a ghost. They grabbed my hand with ease and whispered

"Come with me"

I was more confused by now, where the fuck was I going, what was happening! But no matter how many times I asked those exact questions, the ghost never answered.

"We are almost there, just a second"

As soon as the ghost said that, I heard faint music coming from afar. I knew immediately what it was, War Pigs by Black Sabbath.

I felt comfort as the music got closer and closer and Ozzy's voice got louder and louder. This continued until we came to a gate, the music as loud as it could get.

"Ticket"

The ghost handed the ticket over and opened the gate. They led me into this quiet garden, no one to be seen. I let go of the ghost's hand and pranced around the garden. This continued for about two minutes until I heard another voice.

"There she is!"

I knew who it was immediately, I ran around until I could find him.

"DAD!"

I hugged him until I physically couldn't anymore. I started to cry into his shirt, he seemed to like it.

"Oh little girl, don't cry. I'm here" he cooed

That just made me cry more. I cannot deal with affection from older men.

"Dad, you're here"

"You can call me Cliff sweetheart"

I laughed

"Well, Cliff, I'm so glad you're here"

"Me too"

Cliff walked over to a tree and pulled out a mini bass. It was basically his signature Rickenbacker bass, but tinier.

"One of my buddies made this, for the little one" he smiled

When he handed it to me, I looked at it for about ten seconds before hugging Cliff again

"The baby's gonna love it, thank you"

"I knew it. I can't wait for it to know me, their grandfather"

I hugged him for as long as I can remember, until I heard another voice screaming at me.

"WAKE UP"

I woke with a start. I was back in bed, but the tiny bass was still in my hand. I held on to it tight, the look of happiness in my green eyes

"Kid, you are gonna love your family" I said to myself.
