The large beach house was quite silent for once, as nothing had stirred, not even the inhabitants. That was, until a ray of moonlight danced through a window, shining on a small lizard that crept carefully across the wood floor. It danced in the pale moonlight through a room with a much bigger human resting on a couch, who had a bit of a snore going on. She was oblivious to the reptile, but it soon got caught in a glue trap that she had set up for small pests like him. Terrified, the lizard wiggled and waggled, trying to break free, only to glow a bright white and change forms into a pale blue skinned human, whining as the trap was now stuck in his hair. Quickly, he attempted to pull it off, but this trap wasn't budging. He tried harder to pull the trap off of his rainbow mohawk, except for when he finally got his hair free, the trap was sent flying in the room, slamming onto the ground with a loud THUD! Quickly, the man transformed back into a reptile, trying to stay dead still.
Startled by the noise, the young woman rolled over and woke up, sitting up and looking around only to see a small blue, rainbow tinted lizard. She growled and picked him up by the tail, which the lizard reacted to by squealing and squirming rapidly about.
"Bismuth, what the heck." The girl placed the lizard gently down as he turned back into a human and stood in front of her.
"Okay, so you caught me. What now?" He whined with his hands crossed.
The girl gave Bismuth an amused look.
He proceeded to walk over to the front door of the house, though he made a brief stop at the coat hanger to grab his cardigan. As he put it on, he spoke in a soft voice.
"Look-just don't tell Moon about this, okay? The last thing I need is them on my ass about me not getting sleep."
"You know they're on your ass only because they care for you and everyone in the group." She answered in a passive-aggressive manner.
"I know. But I don't need to be babied." He walked over to a tabletop and grabbed a set of keys off of it, placing them in his pocket. He walked back to the coat hanger to grab his helmet, holding it under his elbow.
"Where are you going?"
"It's-it's nowhere. Go back to sleep, Amber." He got to the door and held the handle in his hand firmly.
"Oh heck no. I can't go back, first of all, because it takes me like an hour to get comfy on your cruddy couch. Second, if you're going, I want to come too. Third, don't tell me what to do." Amber got up, leaving a mess of blankets and pillows on the sofa, and slipped into her moccasins.
"What-wait, are you for real? It's gonna be cold outside."
"It's cold inside too, no big deal." She walked over to Bismuth, who stared at her slightly surprised.
"I-uh, okay." He opened the door for her, and she walked past him. He followed after her and there they stood, outside of the house, in the chilly night. It had always gotten much colder then it was during the day time, but today was much colder then most nights. The coastal plains that surround the house were terribly bland, featuring only flatlands and a few oak trees here and there. There wasn't much to see other then the moon and maybe three stars on a good night. There were also the cars that passed the road, but they were far from a pretty sight.
"So, you didn't answer my question. Where are we going?" Amber asked him again, this time in a calm manner.
"You'll see. Come on." He took out the keys from his pocket and walked up to the bike that was parked in front of the house, which was painted a light teal to clash with the grays that the bike had. He proceeded to sit on it, and put the keys in the ignition, turing the motorcycle on. At the moment it did so, a soft hiss came from the engine as the bike began to burn the gasoline in it, readying for the travel it would go on. As he sat on the bike, he proceeded to put on the helmet and awaited her response as he slipped the helmet over his face.
