Braxton•

When the bus pulled up to our house to get me i was shaking. I was so nervous to even get on. Where am i supposed to sit? And who am i suppose to sit with? Myself?

As i walked up the steps the bus driver smiled and said, "I haven't seen you before. Welcome aboard. I'll be your driver for this year."

I faked a smile, "Oh hi. Thanks."
I tried to walk away but then asked, "What's your name young boy?"

"Oh...right. My name is Braxton. How about you?"

"I'm Stanley. Nice to meet you Braxton."

"You too."

I quickly began to walk away, again. Ahead of me we're about 10 students sitting in the back of the bus, and 5 in the front. I didn't know where to sit, so i just asked if i could sit next to a random guy.

"Sure, you can sit with me."

"Thanks."

He was looking out the window, while me on the other hand was staring at the seat ahead of us. Straight at the grey seating.

"You're new right?" He was now facing me.

"Yea. That's right."

"Ah, i see. You like it here?"

I didn't want to say the truth so i just kept those real thoughts in my head.

"I guess yea."

"Where are you originally from?"

"New York."

"Oh really?"

"Mhm." I looked at him. "Do you truly like it here? Be honest."

He raised one eyebrow and smiled to the side.

"I don't mind it. It's pretty decent if you ask me."

"Nice to know."

"Why'd you come here? If you don't mind me asking."

"It's a long story, to be honest."

"I can listen...or not if you prefer not to tell. Up to you."

I though about it for a second, then went to open my mouth, but stopped.

"Nah i'm good. It's just family issues, that's all."

"Oh dude no worries i got family issues too." He chuckled.

It kinda made me laugh not gonna lie.

As soon as we got to school he asked for my number and i gave it to him. He's a pretty nice guy. I think we'll be more than acquaintances if you wanna be real.

When i was walking through the hallways no one was really looking at me and staring me down, like i thought they would.

Maybe Sam was right. Maybe it's not that bad after all.
