Wishing on a star

Y/n looked up at the dark night sky.
The calming dark with the ethereal beauty of stars made a beautiful contrast,
It was like time stopped just for her at this moment, being wrapped up in the moment Y/n didn't hear the soft footsteps that rustled leaves, twigs, and dead grass beneath them.
Then as Y/n started to speak the footsteps came to a halt.
"Star light, star bright first star I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.
dear star I wish I could forget the pain of my past and embrace my new in my life without looking back.
Thank you, please make my wish come true"
She smiled up at the sky one last time until she turned around coming face to face with the mysterious resident of her new home, Jean d'arc.

"Hello Y/n, may I ask who you where talking to this late at night?" He asked
Y/n blushed at the question, Jean was very kind to her on many occasions, especially when she found herself in need of his sword and the skillfull way he wields it, so she felt more or less comfortable telling him, they've really been through a lot together.
"The stars actually, when I was a little girl my parents always told me that stars have the power to grant wishes, I know that's silly but I still like doing it anyways, even if my wish doesn't come true the cute rhyme scheme brings me back to more simple times and helps me relax"
Jean smiled and also looked up at the stars, "Y/n would you mind teaching me to ask the stars for a wish?"
"OK!" Beamed Y/n

She cleared her throat and started "Star light, star bright first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight, then once your done you say your wish, oh but don't forget to say thank you!"
Jean smiled and began-
"Star light, star bright first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight.
Star, could you please help me forget my pain and live my new life without regret, let me live every day happy by mademoiselle's side and see her smile brighten up the lives of the people around her, thank you I'll be waiting for this to come true"

Y/n looked up at Jean's twinkling eyes and her lips seemed to move on their own.
"Jean, I'd really like to spend every day with you, I'm always happy around you, being around you feels like I can breathe freely"
Jean smiled
"It looks like my wish is already coming true, looks like the tale of stars granting wishes does have some merit, Y/n is there any rule about wishing twice?" He asked
"Not that I can think of" she answered
He smiled and looked up at the sky
"Star, I've come again, I've already said the rhyme, but if I may graciously ask one more wish, please star, may I have Y/n one day as my bride, I would never have known this happiness in life if it wasn't for her, I'd like to keep her close so I can repay her with everything I have, my heart, my soul, my destiny"
He turned towards Y/n,
Her eyes were filled with tears, "Jean that was beautiful, thank you, I'd love to be with you, I've never met a man I've needed in my life more than you"

Jean looked at Y/n and said "Mademoiselle thank you for making me the happiest man I've ever known"
Jean carefully pulled Y/n close to him.
"Let's stay like this all night"
Looks wishing on stars really does work.
With eachother held close, and every second that passed by, the regrets, the fears, and the pains that they've felt up until now just fade away,
Little by little, until hardly a memory remained.
New thoughts took hold of their minds, ones filled with eachother, and about thier futures, with new smiles, new laughs, and new memories, of their happy family and their new home.
Now freed from the shackles of thier sad past lives, Y/n and Jean will be the happiest people anyone has ever known.
The stars will hold a special place in their hearts.
