Chapter 17✔️

Jax's POV

I kissed Skylar on her head and walked out of the room to meet up with Jace.

He was waiting for me at the end of the hall so I jogged up to him before heading straight down the stairs.

"Hey Jax, what were you and Sky doing?"

"None of your damn business. Why do we even have another meeting?"

"I don't know dad called me and told me that we needed to come to the meeting room."

I nodded my head as we walked into the room. My dad and several of my men including Miles and Aries we're there.

I sat down at the head of the table and signaled them to talk.

Aries: "So I ran background checks on the people who attacked us a couple of weeks ago and we have discovered that these people have no correlation to the Russian Mafia. These people were innocent people who got caught in the crossfire of our petty game."

Jax: " Well I think that we can all agree that we knew they were innocent. My only concern at the moment is how they found this location so quick."

Aries: " We've spoken about this before. There is a mole in either this house or back in the states. Someone is leaking our every move to them."

I sat back and frowned.

The only person that could potentially be a mole is someone who has had a relationship or connection with the female don.

Before this feud started between the two families my uncle Ricardo and Rosain were in some sort of relationship.

I sat up and caught the attention of those around me.

"I need someone to find the whereabouts of Ricardo. My uncle. Dismissed."

I stayed behind as the room emptied leaving my dad, brother, and Aries behind.

"Son, why do you want to know your uncle's location?"

"I have my reasons."

I got up and walked out of the room and started heading to my room.

I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open.

I got to the room and noticed that Sky was out cold.

I looked down at my watch and saw that it was only 16:32 (4:32 pm).

I laid down next to Sky and let sleep take over.

3 hours later...
19:47 (7:47 pm)

Skylar's POV

It was too hot.

I shifted around to try and get comfortable.

I heard Jax groan before telling me to stop moving.

I was wide awake now because I hadn't expected him to be in bed.

He was the reason why it was too hot.

Instead of getting up, I turned around to look at him peacefully sleeping.

I kissed him on his cheek before studying his face.

"Why are you staring at me?"

I jumped because his eyes were still close. After gathering my thoughts I answered his question.

"Because you're cute when you are sleeping."

He laughed before sitting up and stretching.

My attention went directly to his tattoos and without a second thought, I started tracing one that was on his back.

I felt him tense up before relaxing.

"Where are we going tonight?"

"It's a surprise baby."

I sighed at his answer knowing that he wasn't going to say anything else.

He suddenly picked me up and put me on his lap and kissing me. The kiss was broken by him.

I looked down and realize that he wasn't looking at me. He was looking behind me. I turned and saw Jace standing at the door with his mouth wide open.

"Hey bro you might wanna pick that jaw of yours up and get out."

Jace started laughing and says that he could have guessed that we were together. Jax rolled his eyes before telling Jace to worry about what's going on between him and Kinsley.

That sentence took me by surprise as I looked at Jace with raised eyebrows.

Jace's eyes widen before he turned and left the room. I turned and looked down at Jax with confusion on my face.

"What's going on between him and Kinsley?"

"I don't exactly know. That's something you have to ask Kinsley."

I got off of his lap after nodding my head.

"How was the meeting?"

"It was uneventful. We didn't talk about something I didn't already know."

"Oh ok."

We sat in silence for a bit until I got curious.

"Hey babe, are you ticklish?"

"No."

I wanted to put it to the test.

I started trying to tickle him everywhere but before I could get to his thigh he grabbed me and started tickling me.

I started laughing super loud at the sudden action.

"STOP PLEASE!! STOP TICKLING ME!!"

He stopped and kissed my forehead and started tickling me again.

This time I screamed for him to stop.

After what felt like forever he stops and leans back while looking down at me with a big smile on his face.

I smiled back at him and told him that his dimples were nice.

I grabbed him and forced him to lay on top of me as we looked out the window.

We heard someone walk in and call Jax's name.

Jax sat up and looked behind him.

"What's going on and why is she screaming?"

"Nothing serious."

I heard his dad walk out of the room.

Jax looked back at me and got up.

"Go get ready for our date. Kinsley and Mia will help you and they will also get ready as well."

"What do you mean they will get ready?"

"Mom wanted all of us to go on a triple date I guess."

I nodded and got up. I walked to the bathroom and started getting ready. I handled all of my business and walked to the closet. I grabbed some undergarments and a robe. I put them on and walked out. I came face to face with Jax. He was talking to his sister.

I cleared my throat to get his attention.

He turned and walked over to me and kissed me and said that Mia was ready and that I would be going to her room.

I kissed him one more time before walking out of the room.

I couldn't wait for tonight.
