No One's POV

Daniel rushed into the hospital and ran straight to the receptionist.

"My wife? Please I need to see my wife!" He was out of breathe and frantic. The receptionist understood that there must've been a drastic tragedy. So she kept calm and tried to gather information.

"What is your wife's name?"

"Emily Thorne. She was brought here about thirty minutes to an hour ago."

The woman typed in Emily's name and waited for the patients file. "Sir, I'm sorry you can't see her right now. She's in surgery." Her face was very apologetic as she delivered the news that he couldn't see his wife.

"Surgery? Surgery for what? What's going on?"

"I'm sorry I but I don't have the information you are looking for. All her file says is that she was brought in 47 minutes ago, prepped and went straight into emergency surgery. Doctor Chavez is her doctor. In a bit he'll come out and let you see her."

Daniel's face suddenly dropped. It was like reality finally hit him. His wife was in an accident and was in the middle of emergency surgery for who knows what. He prayed that the baby was ok and that Emily would make it. Oh, my dear Emily. He immediately burst into tears. He dropped to his knees in the middle of the room and wept. He cried like he never had before. To know nothing about his wife's condition but to know that it's serious, was very hard. After everything that Emily has been through she just had to make it. He placed his hands over his face and sat there.

Just as this had happened a minister was walking out of a patients room. He saw Daniel on his knees and walked over to him. He placed his hand on Daniel's back. Daniel looked up with tear filled eyes.

"Come. We'll talk." The minister helped Daniel stand up and walked with him over to a chair where he prayed with Daniel and shared scriptures with him.

20 Minutes later

"Daniel Grayson?" A doctor in a white lab coat called as he stepped out of the long halls. Daniel, whose eyes were puffy and bloodshot red from crying, quickly stood and walked over to the doctor.

"Yes." Daniel answered; anxious.

"Your wife and child will be fine. The surgery went well and Emily is in recovery room 215. You can see her now." The doctor turned to walked away.

"Wait," Daniel took a few quick steps to catch him. "Can you tell me what happened? I mean what her injuries are and stuff like that?"

"Oh, yes. You will get that information from the nurse. She will fill you in on everything ranging from the accident and time she was brought in to the very moment. " Chavez replied.

"Thank you." The doctor smiled as he turned his back and walked away.

Daniel walked, and periodically jogged, to room 215. When he got to the room the door was closed and the curtains were drawn. He quietly opened the door incase Emily was sleeping. Sure enough she was asleep. A nurse was next to her jotting down her vitals. Daniel just stood near the doorway and studied his wife.

Emily had a bandage on the left side of her head; through which blood was already seeping through. She wore a sling on her right arm but no cast or bandage. Daniel wondered what had happened. She had an oxygen mask, that covered most of her face, on instead of oxygen tubes. Her left foot was in a cast that went to half her shin and her left hand was wrapped. Besides bandages she was covered in scrapes and even gashes. Her entire left arm was beaten up and bloodied as well as the left side of her face. She had a gash over her nose and a few others on her neck. All in all she looked horrible.
