TW: anxiety attacks, hospitals, and blood

OUTSIDE POV

Alex's phone was ringing while he was practicing with the band. They were finishing up so he decided to answer it.

"Hello?" Alex said into the phone as he answered it.

"Is this Alexander Mercer?" A voice said on the other end.

"Yes."

"This is an officer from the LAPD. We just wanted to call to tell you that there's been an accident and that William is on his way to the hospital."

Alex felt like he couldn't breathe. Tears started rolling down his cheeks as the words sank in. He was frozen.

"Hello? Alexander?" The officer was checking to see if Alex was still on the other end of the call.

"Uh... yes. I'm on my way," Alex hung up the phone. Julie, Reggie, and Luke were staring at him with worried faces. "Um... Willie was in an accident." Alex started bawling.

"Hey, hey, hey," Julie ran over to Alex to comfort him. She rubbed his back. "He's gonna be okay."

"But what if he's not?" Alex sobbed.

"He will be. Willie is a tough guy." Reggie said, walking over to try to comfort him as well.

Alex nodded his head. "L- Luke? Will you drive me to the hospital?"

"Yeah. Of course." He said. It always hurt him to see Alex crying.

Luke grabbed his keys and he and Alex walked to the car, got in, and drove to the hospital.

They pulled into the parking lot, Luke putting the car into park. "Do you want me to go wait with you?" Luke looked over to Alex.

Alex nodded slowly. "Please?"

Luke knew that hospitals triggered Alex's anxiety so he thought it would be good to stay with him if he had to wait.

As they neared the doors, Luke saw Alex was shaking so he took Alex's hand in his giving him a soft smile.

They walk into the hospital and up to the reception desk.

"Um... I'm here for William." Alex spoke softly, trying not to cry.

"Okay," The lady typed something on her computer. "I will get the doctor to come talk to you. If you could just take a seat over there." She pointed to a rather empty waiting area.

"Thanks," Luke said.

The two boys walked over to the seating area and sat down. Alex laid his head on Luke's shoulder.

"I should've been there," Alex starts to cry. "I mean like... what if he dies?"

Luke squeezed Alex's hand. "Hey. Don't think like that. That's not gonna happen. You had no idea this was going to happen today too."

"Yeah, but-"

"But nothing. He is going to be okay."

Just then, a doctor walked into the waiting area.

"Alexander?" She said, looking down at a clipboard then back up at the people sitting.

Alex jumped up and practically ran to her. Luke came up behind him, still holding his hand.

"Is he okay? What happened?" Alex's anxiety was rising.

"He fell from his skateboard pretty hard. Thankfully he only has a minor concussion and a broken ankle. Nothing major. He should heal up in a few weeks but until then, no skateboarding or extreme activities."

Alex nodded. "Can I see him?"

"He'll be out in a few minutes. Until then do you have any questions?"

Alex shook his head.

"Okay. Well until then, just wait here please."

"Okay."

The two walked back to where they were sitting and Luke rubbed Alex's shoulders.

"See. He's okay. He may have a few injuries, but he's okay."

Alex nodded.

A few moments later, Willie walked out of the doors, on crutches.

Alex ran to him and gave him a careful but loving hug. He was crying again because now he was here and Alex had proof that he was okay.

"I was so worried about you." He sobbed.

"Hey, hey. It's okay. I'm okay." Willie hated seeing Alex like this. Thankfully Luke was there and he thought that maybe that might help him but it didn't seem to as much as he may have thought.

Alex pulled away from the hug and helped Willie walk out the door and to the car. On the way to their apartment, Alex sat in the back seat with Willie, holding on to him as if he were let go, Willie wouldn't be there anymore.

Thankfully they live on the ground floor of their apartment complex so they didn't have any stairs to worry about. Alex helped him inside and into their bed.

"Do you need anything?" Alex asked Willie.

"Just you. Here with me." Willie said, patting the space next to him.

"Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you or anything."

"I wouldn't be offering if I didn't want you."

Alex nodded, sliding into bed next to Willie. Alex carefully wrapped his arms around Willie as he snuggled into the blonde's chest.

"Hmm," Willie hummed. "Thank you for taking care of me today."

"I will always be here when you need it, babe," Alex said, brushing some hair from Willie's face. "I love you." He placed a gentle and loving kiss to Willie's lips.

"I love you, too."
