First Day of Camp Life

Chiron summoned a blond haired girl named Annabeth and Bella's brother Percy to show her around camp. Bella followed them and Annabeth began interrogating her. Bella didn't appreciate it and neither did Percy.
"Percy, who is this?" Bella asked
"Annabeth, daughter of Athena." Annabeth jumped in cutting Percy off
Bella immediately knew the two of them were not going to get along
Annabeth kept looking Bella up and down disapprovingly. Bella noticed that everybody was staring at them.
"Look I told you we didn't know anything about whatever solstice. Leave my sister alone. She just got out of the Infirmary." Percy stated before taking Bella's hand and showing her Hermes cabin
It reminded her of an overstuffed Red Cross tent you see on TV about natural disaster and their aftermath. Bella looked on in horror because she didn't see many girls and everyone was bunched together. They were introduced to a boy named Luke.
"Regular or undetermined?" One of the boys asked
"Undetermined." Annabeth answered
The room groaned.
"Hey we welcome all newcomers. It's what we're here for. Hi I'm Luke Castellian and I'm your Head Councilor while you're here." He introduced himself
"I'm Percy and this is my sister Bella. Any idea of when we can leave here?" Percy asked
"When you get claimed by your godly parent?" Luke said scratching his head nervously
"And when will that be?"
Some of the kids laughed bitterly.
"That is undetermined."
"Oh that's just fantastic."
Bella glanced down but she was thinking of ways to make this place better
Luke couldn't take his eyes off of Bella. Luke never thought he had ever seen anyone as beautiful as her. Bella felt drawn to him too. He was cute and she thought he looked like a sword fighter. The way they were looking at each other made Annabeth fume. Annabeth then grabbed both Percy and Bella by the arm.
"I need to show you the volleyball court." Annabeth said making Percy and Bella protest
Annabeth pulled them out and across the camp before Bella had had enough. Bella broke the hold Annabeth had on her and Percy and shoved her forward while getting between Percy and Annabeth.
"My brother won't hit a girl. I never had that problem. Back off!" Bella said before going to walk away
"What is your problem?!" Annabeth shouted
"You. You're the problem. You don't man-handle people for no reason. You have no right to interrogate us like we've done anything wrong. We don't answer to you." Bella ranted to Annabeth
Before Annabeth could start her comeback, another girl came over with a few other boys.
"Ah a couple newbies. Good thing we were walking by after all they need to initiated." The girl said
Bella had already looked at the group and was coming up with a way out of the situation.
"Clarisse, why don't you go polish your spear?" Annabeth said
"Really, wise girl. You have nothing better to do than stand here and make a fool of yourself. Besides I wanted to get a look at the two who took down a minotaur. They don't look like much." Clarisse said as her siblings snickered
Bella kept quiet used to these kind of tactics from years of school bullying.
Percy, however, went ahead and opened his mouth insulting the children of Ares. Bella sighed and shook her head as Clarisse got Percy in a head lock. Bella jumped in as the entire affair began to draw a crowd. She grabbed the nearest two boys and slammed their heads together knocking them both unconscious. Clarisse looked up and saw that her brothers were getting their butts kicked easily. Clarisse shoved Percy aside and went to fight Bella. Clarisse and Bella fought against each other and got each other hit for hit. Clarisse punched Bella so Bella punched back. They had been fighting for almost an hour and they gave no signs of slowing down. The fight would have kept going except two boys from Hephaestus cabin broke it up.
"Ok you guys cool it. It's over." One boy, James, said
"Snap out of it, Clarisse. She's just newbie. Jeez you guys are beating each other as if someone broke your favorite weapon." The other boy, Kent, said
Clarisse and Bella were exhausted though their heads finally cleared and they could hear the applause and cheering of the crowd. They both laid out on the ground making everyone laugh as Will Solace from the Apollo cabin came out and healed them up. Clarisse sat up and looked at Bella. She saw a potential sister.
"You're good. I can't knock that. I'm Clarisse, daughter of Ares." Clarisse said reaching out for a handshake
"Its been awhile since someone has pushed me to my limits physically. Bella just Bella." Bella said completing the handshake
Everybody cheered and a conch shell went off. Percy came over to Bella.
"You know you're training me right?" Percy said before slinging an arm over her shoulder
"Yea, but I'll only train you with a sword and spear with some physical stuff the rest you can learn from the camp teachers." Bella said with a giggle making Percy smile widely
They spent the rest of the day exploring camp and making plans for Percy to train. They went back and settled into the Hermes cabin for the night. Bella and Luke talked a lot. Percy could tell they liked each other and was happy for his sister and a bit over protective, so while they talked Percy went and began grilling the rest of the Hermes cabin about Luke. Most of them laughed at him but talked anyway. Percy was satisfied that Luke was a good guy. Soon they went to dinner and crowded onto a couple of tables barely able to sit down. Finally a gentle light went off over Bella's head.
