I pull into Lia's drive way and park my car next to hers. Locking the car, I walk up to her front door, softly knocking on the brown wooden door, I wait.
"Hey.'' I'm greeted by Lia in a knee length black dress. Butterflies fill my stomach and I feel myself getting warmer.
''You look beautiful.'' I compliment.
''Thanks.'' She blushes. ''Come in, I'll be ready in like 2 minutes.'' She runs up the stairs while I close the door behind me and lead myself to the living room. I sit on one of the cream arm chairs and sigh looking around. I look down at my shoes and notice the stain on the carpet.
It must be the red wine she spilt last week.
I chuckle quietly looking around once again and spotting her journal. The urge to pick it up a read it as if it were for my job kills me. I stand sighing and walk into the kitchen as far away from it as possible.
Its hard because I loved my job, I mean I love Lia more than my job but I'm not used to doing anything apart from therapy. I guess with time I'll get used to it.
I look around in the modern kitchen and turn around to see a big frame on the wall with loads of photos. There's some of her with her mom, Michael, Ia'm guessing this must be Jane, Oh look here's Luke too.
I sigh looking out one of the windows in the kitchen and smile. It may still be winter but she has a real nice garden. I go back to the living room and plop down onto the same arm chair and close my eyes.
I hear light foots coming from the stairs and into the living room. I open my eyes and meet with Lia. I gape and how beautiful she looks.
''I'm ready.'' She smiles. ''Do I look okay?'' She looks down at her outfit.
''You look amazing.'' I blink a few times and stand. ''Shall we go then?'' I say and walk to the door with her, letting her through first.
I fasten my seat belt and turn on the engine and put the heating on full as I expect Lias bare skin is freezing out here.
I choose a nice restaurant, not to far from here, not to classy and not to casual. Looking over to Lia, she seems happy and relaxed, a little nervous but she doesn't need to be nervous around me.
I place my hand on her knee to relax her. ''Nervous?'' I ask.
''Just a tad.'' She laughs nervously.
''Why?'' I ask.
''Because I've been dreaming of this day since the day I feel in love with you.'' She smiles.
''Just be yourself.'' I smile. ''and relax.'' she nods leaning her head back and sighing.
...
She scoops some ice cream onto her spoon and looks at me. ''Sure you don't want to try it?'' She offers.
''Fine.'' I laugh opening my mouth and getting as close as I can for her to reach with the spoon. She teases me and goes to put it in my mouth but goes directly to into her mouth. ''Hey!'' I pout. ''That's not fair.'' I stick my bottom lip out.
''I don't share ice cream.'' She pull the cup of strawberry closer to her.
''But you offered.'' I whine playfully.
''Oh yeah.'' She says. ''Well maybe you can have some.'' she smiles meeting my gaze. I feel the butterflies fill my stomach for like the hundredth time tonight.
''actually i think I'll pass.'' I smile looking at the chocolate syrup that was left for her ice cream. I dip my index finger in it and rub it on her nose quickly.
''You did not.'' she laughs cleaning it off with her napkin.
''I think I did.'' I smirk. She dips her finger in the syrup and tries to touch my face. I grab hold of her wrist gently and laugh. ''It's a shame they didn't do strawberry ice cream at that restaurant.'' I say looking at her.
''Yeah, we wouldn't have had to come here.'' She laughs licking the syrup off her finger. ''But I'm glad we did.'' She smiles.
''So am I.'' I chuckle. ''Have you finished?'' I ask smiling.
''Yep, I'm stuffed.'' She rubs her tummy.
'' Glad to know.'' I laugh walking out of the ice cream shop with her.
''Yeah, I think I shouldn't have eaten all that ice cream.'' She giggles. '' Maybe we should wait a while until I get in the car.'' She smiles nervously.
''I think that is probably the best idea.'' I smile. ''Lets go for a walk?'' I entwine our fingers looking at her. She smiles walking along with and hums.
''What you humming?'' I ask looking at her, she blushes smiling.
''Nothing.'' She mumbles looking away.
''C'mon it sounded really nice.'' I stop.
''Ugh okay.'' she huffs. ''Oh my god, is that a playground?'' she lets go of my hand and walk off to the swings.
''Hey!'' I follow after her. Sitting on the swing next to her. I sigh. ''Are you going to tell me that song you were humming or not?'' I plead.
''Yeah.'' She nods sliping her hand in mine.''Your hand fits in mine like its meant to be.'' she pauses looking at our hands. ''But bear this in mind, it was meant to be'' she smiles. ''And I'm joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks. And it all makes sense to me'' She meets my gaze and I lean in forwards to kiss her small soft lips.
