The Land of Dawn is no longer safe once more. The place where elves, orcs, demons, humans, and many other races learned to coexist among each other, ancient or recent, is now threatened by the Abyssal creatures once again. The portal which had been closed centuries ago by the ancestors, now reopened.
Jungkook shudders a heavy breath, sweats rolling down his cheeks and his hair damp from exertion. Punctured bodies of orcs lie scattered around, their blood now forming a shallow pool covering the fresh grass, sulfuric smell filling the air.
This is the fourth attack in seven days. Jungkook is unsure how long they can hold back until the creatures infiltrate the main village and start hurting his people, the Azryans.
The bruises on his hands burns a little as it materializes back to flesh from wood- not painful, but enough to know the dark troops are getting stronger. Smarter even.
He turns towards his companion elf, a leonin. She looks equally out of breath, her pink bushy tail now stained into a dark black. "Nana, are you okay?"
"I'm alright, Master." she replies, wiping off the blood from her boomerang and summoning back her feline companion cat. "Molina can't sense any more orcs nearby so we'll be safe for now."
"Alright, let's head back to the temple. The guards will clean it up and Miya will watch over." Jungkook says as he adjusts his robe that is now sticking tightly to his skin. He will need a bath.
The Lunar temple is located in the middle of the village on top of the hill, overlooking the entire woodlands. It is structured like a ring with an opening in the middle, where the Tree of Life lives. The elves come whenever to pray for strength. The back extends to the Great Hall where the King's throne is. Several other compartments are attached around it for different purposes, in one where there is a well and a bath.
Jungkook runs himself a pale of hot water that springs from the well, letting the hot liquid wash away his fatigue. He then dries himself and puts on a new set of garments.
He stands in the corridor of the temple, the sun sinking in the horizon and the moon peeking out. The moonlight is strong enough to illuminate the village under his gaze, but he knows it used to be stronger than this. The moonlight is weakening over the past few days. There is almost an eerie silence as he trains his eyes to see how clear he could. The streets remain almost empty, only those who are returning from the temple. Doors shut and windows closed. No sight of vendors shuffling in the streets, no sign of children chasing among the trees, the hunters have returned early. The cicadas have gone quiet, no birds flew in the air in the looming darkness, not only of the night but of what is to come. If the elves felt the thickness in the air, then animals have better senses afterall.
He is brought back by a clearing of a throat. "Master."
He turns around and immediately recognises the bushy ear sticking out from the white hair, blue irises sparkling bright. Jungkook's face instantly lights up at the figure, all clad in white fabrics reflecting the moonlight. "Harith! You're here! What brings you here?"
