It was time for me to gather all of my suitcases and start packing it into the truck. Today was the day that I leave for college. I packed up all of my picture frames, trophies, clothes, etc, and said goodbye to my family. “When will you be back” My sister asked

“Ill come and visit next month, but remember, we can still FaceTime.”

“Our little girl has grown up, already” my dad said.

“Yeah, I know. It seems like just yesterday I was jumping on the trampoline trying to catch lighting bugs.”

“We will miss you very much” my mom said as she started to tear up.

“Don’t cry, i’ll come and visit next month, I promise.” I spoked

“After I hugged everyone I jumped into the moving truck and waved bye to my family.

About 5 minutes into the drive I got a text from my sister, saying “Bye I miss you already”

“I miss you too!” I typed back.

After I turned off my phone and put in down, the man driving the truck said.

“I’m guessing you and your sister are really close?”

“Yep, we've been close forever.” I said.

“That’s sweet, how old is she?”

“ She’s 10”

“aww how sweet. How old were you when she was born?”

“I had just turned 8 a couple months before”I said.

The man nodded.

“So what made you choose Harvard?” he asked.

“Well, I was doing really good in school, and I love art, so I kept studying art, and looked at colleges and soon got a scholarship for it.”

“Thats great, I’ve always stuck by the saying, if you put your mind to something, it will happen.”

“Thats really nice.” I said.

It took about 3 hours of conversation and 4 rest stops but we soon made it to Boston.

It was a little windy that day but It was much different than the weather at home.

“Thanks for the help” I told the driver as I handed him a 30 dollar tip.

“No problem, and if you need another ride, heres my companies number.”

“Thanks”

I stepped out of the car and stretched, it felt so good to be out of the car. My luggage has been taken from some of the people who work at the college to my dorm room. I then walked around campus and then went to the office to receive my keys for my dorm room. My room number was 421. I opened the door and saw my friend Cora. We screamed and started running toward each other.

“I didn't know you were going to this college!” Cora exclaimed.

“I didn’t know you were going here!” I said.

“What should we do?” I asked.

“I think we should go to the meet and greet at 4.” Cora said.

“Ok, well its 1:30, so in the mean time we can decorate our side of the room.” I said

After just getting started on decorating, I have put on my bed sheet, and decorated my desk a little bit, but I think we each got distracted on how weird it is that we both applied to the same college and had no Idea.

“I think we should start to head out, its 3:30.” Cora said.

“Okay, thats probably the best idea unless we want to be late.”

“probably, ok lets go”
