Ryoji Hakunashi is a ten year old Japanese-American boy, from Rome New York. His father is a brilliant scientist and inventor, while his mother is a voice actress (who is secretly half-dragon). He has a twin sister; named Mayumi Hakunashi.
Up until he started boxing at the age of nine, Ryoji was sadly bullied, most of his life. One British bully in particular; Richard Snobbily, one day went too far. He punched Ryoji hard in the nose, and force-fed him chocolate cake and gummy worms. Due to his injuries and illness, Ryoji had to leave school early, that day.
When Ryoji got home, he begged his parents to let him start boxing. They said no. Saddened and angered by this, Ryoji rushed up to his room, sobbing! Concerned, his parents came up to his room, and asked why he and his sister wanted to become boxers. Ryoji explained that boxing was in his blood, and that he wanted to become strong enough to protect those he cares about. His mother told him that they didn't want him to follow his aunt; Hisako's path, because thought she lost badly by KO, during one fight. Thus being forced to retire. Mayumi, however, explained that this was not the case. All that really happened to her, was that she lost one of her teeth, and she STILL won by KO! Upon learning this, the parents laughed, and reluctantly allowed their children to start boxing.
Fortunately, his father; Dr. Yamoshi Hakunashi, already had a plan. He used his robots to build the perfect technologically advanced boxing gym, for his two children. Including a robot boxing coach; Mickey Goldbot! Upon completion, Ryoji and Mayumi wasted no time, in their training. They became much stronger, faster, more agile, and more skilled! Their final test, was to beat Mickey Goldbot; himself! And they passed, with flying colors! By then, Ryoji was ready for his first match.
