*My story is very experimental, so feedback is much welcomed. :)*

It was a hazy Sunday morning when Rose awoke. She sat up slowly in her bed, and glanced over to her side. There was John. Her John.
She leaned over, kissed his head, and crawled out of bed.
The house was warm, so Rose decided to open some windows, welcoming the cool ocean breeze that entered when she did. She danced into the kitchen and opened the fridge.
"Ugh," groaned Rose. "No more eggs."
She snuck into the room and got dressed in her purple tee and jeans. She heard John mumble and move around in the bed. She stopped, hoping she hadn't woke him.
"'Morning." muttered John. Rose smiled.
"Good morning, sleepy head." she said, walking out of the closet and over to him.
"Going somewhere?" he asked sleepily, gazing at her outfit.
"Only the market to get some eggs. My parents are coming over." He groaned and hugged her waist, still laying down.
"Do they have to?" he whined. Rose laughed and pushed his arms off.
"Yes." she walked back to the closet and pulled out a pair of brown boots. "Besides, they're bringing over your favorite person."
"But you're already here." John said. Rose smiled and put on her boots.
"I meant Tony, doofus," she said. He chuckled and turned over in bed.
"Why am I so sleepy?" he asked. "I never sleep." Rose picked up her purse and walked over to him.
"Maybe you're more human than you thought." she whispered in his ear. Rose kissed him then left the house.
The market was so close that she could walk to it. But there was one flaw of the nearby market- it reeked of fish. Being by the pier, it brought in loads of seafood and made the place smell like it was one large sushi roll.
Holding her breath, Rose walked in and spotted the produce section. While walking there, she noticed a suspicious man leaning against the wall. His face was covered by a hood but Rose could tell he was a shady character.
She fast-walked past him and into the produce aisle. She quickly grabbed a carton of eggs, eager to get out of the shady man's sight.
When she came out of the aisle, she couldn't find him, so she assumed he got kicked out for loitering.
The line was long and boring. Rose almost vomited when they brought in a massive load of salmon, and almost everyone else did too.
She was happy to leave the market once she was finished, and happy to erase the man's image from her mind.

"Took you long enough!" joked John as he sipped his coffee at the dining room table. Rose faked a smile and handed John a copy of the news.
"Long line." She quickly changed the subject by pointing to an article in the news.
"Look!" she exclaimed. "They're filming that new romance, "Umbrellas" here." John rolled his eyes.
"Movies like that have no cinematic quality in any sense." Rose smiled and poured him more coffee.
"I like it when you use big words."
"No, a critic said it here." John said, pointed to a picture of a grouchy looking old man. Rose punched his shoulder and began making eggs.
She tried to fill her mind with thoughts of her parents and Tony but one question sat defiantly in her mind.
Who was that man?
