Homura sat at home. Madoka was going to come over and she had already prepared the house. Now she just had to wait. Wait for the former-goddess to arrive. It felt like hours but it was really only a few minutes before she heard a knock on the door. She opened it and let Madoka in.
"Sorry I'm late! Hey Homura!" Madoka smiled.
"Hello Ms Kaname. Glad to see you made it," Homura sighed. They went up to Homura's room.
"Don't you live with any parents?" Madoka asked.
"No," Homura replied.
"Sorry for asking! That was a bit insensitive! Huh? Those photos... they're cute! But they never happened. I would know! How did you get them?" Madoka gasped.
"Sadly as you are right now you won't remember. Well, sad for you. It works in both our favours though. Neither of us have to worry about you knowing the horrors that happened, how I lost you, what that monster did to you!" Homura sighed.
"Something bad happened? You lost me? A monster?" Madoka questioned.
"I used to keep resetting time. Well, I guess I still do from time to time. This evil cat-like creature called Kyubey made you sign a contract. After I witnessed you die, I contracted myself to see you again. In that timeline, I saw you live long enough to become a witch! I kept resetting time but no matter what happened, I couldn't stop you from contracting, even after you yourself told me to prevent you from making a wish. One time, I nearly managed to save you but you wished to wipe out all witches before they were born. I'd accidentally allowed you to gain that ability. The ability to successfully contract with such a strong wish. Then, knowing all my loss and suffering, Kyubey experimented on me to internally create a witch's barrier. The reason this was possible when you'd prevented that from happening with your wish is that I was cut off from the Law of Cycles. I somehow managed to drag you, Sayaka Miki, Mami Tomoe, Kyoko Sakura and the witch Charlotte. You had no power or memory. Sayaka and Charlotte, or Nagisa Momoe as her real name is, knew everything. Luckily, we got out of the barrier and started over. Well, first I pulled you out of heaven. That's where we are now," Homura explained.
"You..." Madoka gasped.
"I had to. It was the only way to keep you safe. Don't worry. I took over your job. As a demon though. Now we can be together for eternity!" Homura smiled. Madoka started to cry. "This world is cruel. Welcome!" Homura continued. Madoka hugged Homura, still crying.
"Why did you take me away?" Madoka asked.
"I love you and can't bear to see you get hurt!" Homura admitted.
"That's cute. But you can't just steal me away! That's..." Madoka started. Homura kissed her.
"I don't care what you think of me as. I just want you to be safe. So if you see a white cat creature with red eyes, run away!" Homura scowled. She took out her soul gem. It was in its original form.
"That looks so cool! I've got one too!" Madoka blushed. She took out her soul gem. Homura gasped.
"When did you contract?" she gasped.
"I don't remember ever signing a contract!" Madoka admitted.
"I only took your memories away and not your soul gem?" Homura called.
"It's fine! Wait, what if we were to live together, in paradise!" Madoka smiled.
"That sounds alright. Not perfect. But if it's just us then maybe!" Homura shrugged.
"I remember everything now that you reminded me! There'll be a few other magical girls who used up their soul gem energy but that'll be it!" Madoka replied.
"Maybe we could alternate!" Homura sighed. They managed to agree on that proposal.
