RIVER POV

"Damn it, River. Get back here." My brother whisper yelled at me.

I ignored him and walked closer to the house.

"She's gonna get us in trouble." James complained.

"River!"

Ryan was a goody good. Smart, kind, couldn't harm a fly kind of guy. While he hated doing anything wrong, my dear brother always followed me in my adventures. Why? He always said it was to make sure I came back in one piece. He was loyal like that. James was never far behind either. He was the son of our uncle Luke and aunt Jazz. We all grew up together.

"Would you both calm down. It's just an in and out thing. Stay close and nothing bad happens." I told them with a roll of my eyes.

"Why are we egging Mr Anderson's house any way?" Ryan asked with a scowl.

He always looked like mom when he did that.

"Because brother, he called Ma an egg head." I looked him in the eyes, eyes that were identical to mine. "And no one, calls our mother an egg head." I stated with a firm nod.

"Well to be fair, aunt Logan is a little weird."

"Excuse me." I narrowed my eyes on James.

"N-no, I meant like good weird. She's like a big kid." He took a step back.

"Nothing's wrong with that." I huffed.

"I'm not worried about Ma. I'm worried about mom finding out." Ryan said, panicking.

"She won't find out, because we're not telling her." I shrugged nonchalantly.

With that said, I walked a little closer. Taking my aim, I started throwing the eggs. James helped too but as usual, Ryan looked disapprovingly at us.

Just as we were finished throwing the eggs, a booming voice startled us.

"You kids better run!" He warned, then the cocking of a gun was heard.

"Fuck, run!" I whisper yelled.

We sprinted to my bike and Ryan's car.

"Fuck you, River." James panted out when we got out of the bushes.

They got into the car while I hopped on my Ducati. We sped off just as Mr Anderson's shotgun went off behind us.

We pulled up at our mother's cafe. It was Friday night so the bar was open. Plus, Ma wasn't here tonight.

"Can't believe we just did that." Ryan said walking up to me.

"Would you let it go already?" I leaned against my bike.

"You just egged your boss's house, River." Ryan scolded.

"Yeah, what if he saw us and called the police?" James said with wide eyes.

"She is the police, James." My brother retorted.

Ha.

Yeah, I am.

"And he's the captain." I added in a 'duh' tone.

"You, River...you just....ugh." He walked off.

James and I followed him in.

"I think you pissed him off." Our friend laughed.

"I always do." I smirked.

We sat in a booth and ordered. James was the only one who got alcohol since he just turned 21. He claimed he was making up for the years he didn't get to drink. I ordered root beer and Ryan took a soda. We had work in the morning, so no alcohol for us. Plus, we were driving. We listened to people sing horribly and chatted amongst ourselves. The small dance floor had only a few people.
