Twenty three

Timotheé had just pulled into the driveway of my moms house. I saw my grandpas car in the driveway so I knew they were here.

Timotheé "I'll get Elio."
Vee "Thank you my love."
Timotheé "Anything for you."

I kissed him and got out the car, I stretched first and then I went up to the door. I knocked and heard my grandpa yell at something, the door opened and he look confused.

Grandpa Vern "What you twos doing here? And why didn't I get a call?"
Vee "What? You don't want us here? We could leave."
Grandpa Vern "Nah nah come in."
Vee "Babe grandpa said to leave."
Timotheé "He probably means you to leave, he wants me to stay."
Grandpa Vern "You read my mind?"

We laughed and then I hugged my grandpa and so did Timotheé. I walked inside and I saw my mom making some coffee.

Mom "Unexpected visit."
Vee "Yeah, well me and T have to tell you something."
Grandma Norma "Oh gosh what is it? Your pregnant aren't you."
Timotheé "Grandma you think we do that?"
Grandma Norma "Timotheé I am not dumb, I lived a full life, I know what you twos do."
Vee "No I'm not pregnant."
Mom "So what is it?"

I showed her and my grandpa my ring and they freaked out.

Mom "Yous lying!"
Vee "Nope!"
Grandma Norma "Wow that's beautiful."
Grandpa Vern "He finally got down on one knee!"
Mom "Dad you knew about this?"
Timotheé "Yeah I asked him if I was allowed to and he of course said yes."
Grandpa Vern "He asked me and then got me a pack of beer, he's already family!"
Grandpa Norma "You and your damn beer talk, what we wearing at the wedding!"
Vee "I don't know yet."
Mom "Wheres it at? We can do it here in Jersey, maybe head down to East Brunswick."
Timotheé "Actually it's gonna be in France."
Grandpa Vern "We heading down there? Haven't been there in years!"
Mom "Oo! I love it so far!"
Grandma Norma "Let me call my sister, she needs to know we are coming."

I grabbed Elio from Timotheé and put him on the couch. I didn't see Morty any where so Elio should be fine until he comes inside. My grandpa had actually called her sister and was speaking in French and yelling at her.

Mom "Mom take that else where!"
Grandma Norma "She's a pain in the ass, what else can I say?"
Timotheé "I love her."
Vee "Who doesn't?"

I laughed and I sat down on the couch, Elio was exploring the house and he seemed to be scared at first but he went around smelling everything. Timotheé put the TV on and started watching some movies.

Mom "Vee! Guess what I found in storage yesterday!"
Vee "What did you find now?"
Mom "Found some tapes of you and your brother! I wanted to watch them when you guys came down here."
Vee "Where are they at?"
Mom "Let me go get them, Timotheé can you get the DVD player out the closet? It's on the top shelf! Plug it in when you get it down."
Timotheé "Yeah I'll get it."

I went on my phone and Elio had jumped onto my lap and sat on me. My mom came in with a box full of tapes.

Timotheé "Aye grandma Imm get you a whole new TV."
Grandma Norma "No you are not! I love my TV!"
Mom "Trust me, I tried, your not gonna get anywhere."
Timotheé "I try every year, when will she break?"
Vee "That women isn't gonna break, she's like TV."
Mom "Dad come watch these tapes with the kids,"

I got up and grabbed some coffee, I checked the fridge and grabbed some fruit and cut them up real quick.

Vee "T you want some coffee?"
Timotheé "Yeah, give me a little."

I grabbed another glass and poured him some, I put it on the table and went back to the kitchen. I grabbed my fruit and my coffee and went to go sit down.

Grandpa Vern "Where my snacks?"
Vern "You want a beer?"
Grandpa Vern "Yeah I supposed so, give me sunflower seeds as well, there next to the fridge."

I got up and grabbed him a beer from the fridge and a cup for his sunflower seeds. I gave them to him and then I sat down and Timotheé sat next to me.

Mom "Mom you gonna watch from there?"
Grandma Norma "Yeah I'm going through coupons."
Mom "Okay."

I gave my mom the remote and she sat down, the videos started playing..

It was me and my brother outside in our old house. He was playing baseball and I was on the grass eating some Cheerios. My dad had just gotten home from work and he hugged us both so hard..

Mom "Mike always had the same smile."
Vee "Thats would made him so special, he always kept his smile."
Timotheé "Vee your rocket those pink overalls."
Mom "She loved those, all she would ever wear."
Vee "Mom you still have them don't you?"
Grandma Norma "I found them the other day in storage! Found some of Mikes clothes as well."
Grandpas "What about Jacks suit?"
Mom "I still have some in the garage."

Jack was my dad and Mike was my brother. I don't remember much about my dad, I was still little when he had passed from cancer. My brothers death was really unexpected though, I missed him everyday and seeing these videos was really hard for me actually...

Mom "Let's watch one more and then we can order some pizza."
Timotheé "Where's Morty?"
Grandpa Vern "He's in the room sleeping, he was barking all morning."
Vee "No wonder it was quiet when we arrived."

I ate some more of my fruit and Timotheé took some as well. The video we were watching now was when my mom and dad took us to the zoo. I was holding my dads hand and he picked me up calling me his princess, like he always did....
